England 2012 - Substance over style

I was just listening to the BBC coverage of England at the Euro's and was struck by how they, and others have been criticising England and Hodgson for the lack of style in their performances, 'not set the tournament on fire' etc etc.

My view is that if you don't have dazzling brilliance, then you have to use work-rate and organisation, and if you do so then your win is just as valuable as if you play the opposition off the park. Hodgson is picking teams and systems to stop the other team winning, and giving us enough threat to win the games. Its running his way, but then being lucky was always as important as being good. Boring boring England lifting the cup will do me nicely...
