No snowflakes here so far although cold day today for the first time this season dipped to -6 celcius overnight.
They do use salt granules here but they have started using a saline solution on the roads which they spray.
It doesn't need to melt therefore it acts quicker and there is less waste and salt isn't scattered onto grass etc.
Other parts of the country they throw sand down as it is too cold for the salt to work.
