I echo your comments on Derek. He was an exceptional person. Came from a humble background but achieved a lot in his life despite adversity. He had time for everyone and treated them all with the same courtesy and patience. The turnout at his funeral at Sheffield Cathedral was amazing and showed how much he was loved and respected by thousands of Sheffielders. I feel privileged to have known him.
It's as well he's not around today to witness the dreadful business over Ched. That would have broken his heart.
