Totally agree with what you say Grantham, but I am sure that the agents will go all out for the maximum wage that they can get for their player.
While the current climate will be beneficial for the club there are still many, particulary in the championship who will have more pennies than we have to play with.
Based on the chairman's comments I still do not see us matching what Kitson and his likes will want and the championship sides will have the best chances of landing players of his calibre.
As you say Porter and Cresswell are not the answer as first choice,the latter now getting on a bit for a player and the former unless there is a big improvement does not to me look like getting into double figures in a season.
Like you i just hope we can hang on to Maguire,Lowton, Quinn but somehow I do not expect to and to many changes will unsettle us for next season.
While we have a good manager in Danny Wilson I still think he will have a tremendous challenge on his hands as I fully expect to see key departures from the side.
