Sub-Lieutenant Soulet and crew in front of FLEURIE. I don’t know neither the date nor place when that pic has been taken.

My Char B1 bis shows the tank named „FLEURIE“ of the 41e BCC (41st Battalion de Char de Combat=41stTank Battalion) on route to Stonne. The crew and tank completed an exhausting night march, easy to see on the hand land still atop on the turret roof. The Cdr. already put the tactical pennants into a handy position on the roof – prepare for a soon to expecting battle against the advancing German Panzerdivision. Despite of the rush to the battle zone FLEURIE is halted in the morning after the night march by the French soldier, because of a traffic jam. FLEURIE passed that later on and ran toward Stonne. 5 miles off Stonne FLEURIE broke down because of a broken steering link. The crew tried to tow FLEURIE without success. FLEURIE fell to German hands undefeated.
Hope not to flood that thread and you enjoy the pics………………….

My base is named “not a question of bravery!”

If that B&W pic is the Fleurie then where is the blue and white stripe on the turret?
Just wondering.

blue white wave

AFAIK that blue/white wave symbol was introduced for the 41 BCC around
Novembre 1939, so that pic was taken before that date. That's Fleurie
is shown on the pic you can see on turret side.

Wonderful old French Ironside.

Sophisticated paint job!
realistic weathering on hull, tracks & wheels.
nostalgic costume early40's French Army troopers.
