      http://sparebrainsgames.com/chat/ 7pm, Tuesday!

Let's see. Blood test came back today confirming hypogammaglobulinemia and CVID, he called me twice to discuss it. I think I blew his mind a bit when I told him how much we knew about CVID, we've been researching it for three weeks! He doesn't want to do skin scratch testing for allergies right now, which we heartily agree with, and he's referred me to a hematologist, whom we'll be seeing next week, and hopefully starting treatment soon thereafter. One very good piece of info was that I theoretically can start treatment with subcutaneous injections rather than IV treatment, which theoretically has fewer bad side effects.

We saw the lung doctor Wednesday last week as a followup on the previous week's bronchoscopy. Everything was good, my lungs looked to be in very good shape: no obstructions, no foreign objects. This is pretty much what we expected. We were discussing changing my asthma treatment to stop taking quite so many drugs when the results of the initial cultures came back showing strep bacteria in my lungs. The good thing was that they were able to test the cultures for antibiotic resistance. It turns out that the strep was resistant to the antibiotic that I took for my 4th pneumonia, so the doctor prescribed a different family of antibiotic that it tested as vulnerable to, so it should be clearing up nicely. We won't have the results of the fungus cultures for another month.

Russet is doing well, her mother's death still hits her occasionally, no surprise there. She said what actually hits her the most is the loss of her childhood: the house that she grew up in was sold two years ago, and with the loss of her mom, she feels her ties to childhood are going away. We'll go and see the house when we're in Oberlin for the internment, but she doesn't want to go inside and see it again at this time. I think that's a good call. There's a park and two ponds and an arboretum behind the house, we'll go and see those while we're there.

Currently the internment looks like it'll be August 1, we're planning on driving to reduce my exposure to concentrated sickies. It's a 3-4 day drive.

Thank you all for your prayers and kind thoughts and wishes during this time, they are appreciated.
