I have read and heard alot about the "Fast Deer", and am interested in getting one... I believe this rifle is also known as the KL-3B. Is this correct? ... Can someone with actual experience tell me a little about it? ... Is it generally accurate, or is it like a couple of other Chinese air guns I bought, where accuracy depended on if you were lucky enough to get one with a good barrel or not? Are they powerful enough in .22 cal. for small game hunting and vermin control at ranges to about 30 or 35 yards? Are they grooved for mounting a scope?... Where can I get the best price on one in .22 caliber, thru mail order? ... Any information is appreciated. ......... Thank You.

Fastdeer .22 ...

In .22 it does 440fps 14.3 gr out of the box ..thats 6fpe ..ok to about 10yds on game .
with a lot of work they can be tuned to do 510fps 14.3 .
You would be better off getting a B 20 in .22 or a B26 or a quest 800 ( thats a .22 )
anyone of those mentioned would get you 660-680 fps 14.3 and get the job done to 35-40yds
They are around $100 of course if you went with a $160 budget then a Diana RWS 34 from Midsouth shooting supplies would be the ticket , German quality ..at a very reasonable cost .
If a beater or truck gun is what you want then B4 2a for $35 would be best it does 515fps 14.3 out of the box and can be tuned to do 575 fps 14.3 easily .

Thank You.... Yes, I am just looking for a "beater", that I can stick behind the truck seat, and have it handy if and when it is needed... I just sent them an email asking if they have it in stock, however they only show the B4-2 in .177...and I already have several rifles in .177 caliber... If they do have it in .22 caliber, I will order one... I have looked elsewhere and been unable to find anyone with the B4-2 in .22 caliber... As long as I am asking, if you don't mind, let me ask you one more question... If I raised my budget to 100 dollars or under, which .22 caliber rifle would you choose for power and accuracy?.... I do thank you for the help you have given me.

fast deer

April 20 2008, 9:57 AM

I have a fast deer I have looked for one in 22 cal and have not been able to find one anywhere but the 177 cal one I have is great it hits hard and is a tack driver but you need to do some work on it to get the most out of it . Mine out of the box had a hard trigger and after polishing the sear and the piece the sear hooks to it now is still a little hard but breaks nice it's about a 4 1/2 lb. pull using my fish scale to check it,but it shoots very good. What I have done to the rifle was to recrown it and make the breach port to a trun 1/8 inch id. as well as change the spring and change the lether seal to plastic seal that came with the cleaning kit from south summit I also shortened the barrel 4 inches to make it a short rifle or a carbine if you like that better. and I did some stock work too. One thing if you scope it you will need to find a short scope as the standard length scope will make it very hard to load the pellets the scope gets in the way of loading I bought a mustar 4x30 scope it worked out great. I hope this is a help and I would get a orther fast deer anytime it's been a great gun for me.Howie1a
