My story starts when a few years ago when I was just starting out buying rolex for re-sale..
well I was contacted by a gentleman on the other coast of florida that he had an old 6538 that was given to him by his grandpa..and the price (at that time at least)was surprisingly low..but,even though the price was definitely right me and my fiancee' had just bought a house and this and that..you know the story..but I had to act fast.
So even though I really wanted this watch myself I just couldnt pull it at that time,so I contacted an oversea's friend of mine who I knew had a love for these rare beast's and offered to buy it for him if he so desired.Needless to say he practically cried when I told him about the watch and price..I just told him to pay for my car rental and hotel for the weekend excursion to the other coast (he happily gave me a nice finders fee as well!)and I would get it for him.
thats the long and the short of it..my fiancee',the kids and myself had a great abbreviated trip and I got a good friend the watch of his dreams(and my dreams!),so it all worked out great..but I wouldreally have loved to been able to afford that watch back then.
but everything happens for a reason,so I am sure it was the best outcome one way or another..
thanks for your time everyone!!
