I've been into Rolex watches for quite some time now and have owned some really nice (to me!) examples over the years. I started with an Air King which I still own and love. My main area of interest was the vintage Oysters, but eventually the sports models bug got me and I bought a full set 16700 GMT which I wore, but never really loved. I had handled some amazing Subs over the years, courtesy of MW (all of this is his fault!!) but had never had the urge to buy one. Then one evening I saw a Tudor Mini Sub on eBay, for sale less than a mile from where I live. I contacted the seller and went to see the watch and won the auction, for what I thought was a good price. The Mini Sub had two lots of RSC papers, boxes etc - a real minter!
Time passed and eventually I decided that I needed a full size Sub so went for a 14060 full set, then came a Tudor 79090, then a 16800 matte. To facilitate this Sub splurge the 16700 and Mini Sub went to new owners. So now that I am officially a 'Sub Lover' I have misty eyed memories of that old MIni Sub, especially that now I have a little girl I wish I'd kept it for. The one consolidation is that it went to a really great VRF buddy, whose daughter loves it!
Tudor Mini Sub - Gone, but not forgotten!
