Great post CFJ! Everybody bashing Speltz and Nachbaur you need to calm down. As we all know you can't contend for the memorial cup every year..... I may agree Speltz mostly trades for picks and I'd like to see more substantial returns that could help the team immediately, (i.e. Brady Brassart for a conditional pick)
Nachbaur is a stud! The lightning in a bottle you refer to was incredible to watch. He turned out 8 20+ goal scorers last season, not bad for a first year coach with a new team. He also got some good timely goaltending as well. He got great production out our kids earlier this season with many come back and one goal wins. He produced 13 guys who scored 10 or more this year, of course we will lose 3 of those next year but if those 10 remaining can get close to 20, another winning season will come. You have to remember we finally have a coach that knows what it takes to win. Nachbaur will find ways to be successful in Spokane!
I look forward to next season when these young kids step up and get more ice time! The cycle format of the league is a great way to watch teams produce into great hockey talent for the future! It's been hard watching some of the 20 yr. olds that we had, move on and have really good season with other teams but you have to suck it up and deal with what you still have. I hope next season the right evaluations are taken to be successful. I hope to see the 20 yr. olds being Uher, Kichton, and Walchuk. We should be able to get good returns for Gal and Vandane!
