Von Magnet:

Von Magnet, probably best described as experimental-avant-garde, combines multiple layers of artistry to create an experience of sight and sound for their audiences. Painters, makeup artists, dancers, and even the musicians of Von Magnet all play an important role in the dramatic live presentations. The music of Von Magnet builds from minimal and sometimes metallic sounds into immense pieces using a host of instruments. A wide variety of percussion instrumentation is present, in addition to flamenco, bass and electric guitars, sitars, violins, electronics and some of the most intense vocals heard by many.
Keep in mind whilst listening that the main artist, Phil Von, is a very talented flamenco-dancer, and, once getting fed up with the traditional and non-progressive way of flamenco-music, decided to make his own. Filled with samples, of lyrics, of other artists instruments, or his own dancing on a wooden amplified box, it has something industrial as well as danceable.
Their shows are dramatic, story-telling performances, but always with a large role for flamenco-music. It is a highly explosive and confusing show, often making use of the surroundings. The whole theater is the stage.

The Crüxshadows:

One of the most notable Dark-wave bands internationally, the Crüxshadows started in the early 1990's in a little town in North Florida. Over the last 17 years their success among fans of gothic, ebm, new wave, & dark electronic music has contributed to their near legendary status in the underground/counterculture scene. The bands dark electronic rock and introspective lyrics quickly earned them a fan base beyond the United States, particularly in Europe.
The band's uniqueness transcends the realm of dance or club music. The rich and romantic flavor of electric violins, mixed with crunchy and sometimes biting guitar lines, gives the Crüxshadows a wide berth of musical possibilities. This is juxtaposed with the cold digital world of electronic textures and synthesis often associated with synth-pop and EBM. Add the moody musings of front man, composer, founder, and lead singer Rogue, and you have a guarantee that this band is anything but typical. Songs by The Crüxshadows are immediately recognizable. Lyrically, they draw heavily from ancient mythology, and tend to focus on themes of responsibility, loyalty, passion and faith. The bands motto is Live, love, be, believe, and it serves as a reminder that while The Crüxshadows may write catchy songs, the band has depth that extends beyond the dance floor.

With over 14 CDs, a DVD, and more compilation appearances than you can count, The Crüxshadows have made themselves synonymous with a new breed of electro-goth music. Their energy and intensity on stage led them to be called "the best live band in Europe today" by the host of Hamburg's popular Crazy Clip Show and their performances have been aired regularly on German national television. Songs by The Cruxshadows have appeared on ABC World News, National Geographic Television, The Style Channel, MTV and many others including some in Europe and Asia. If you have an opportunity to see them live, don't pass it up. Known for their theatrical, yet sincere, impassioned, and exciting performances, The Crüxshadows are indeed one of a kind.

The Essence:

Formed in 1984 in their highschool days, The Essence signed to Midnight Music after a year of gigging. In September 1985 the collaboration resulted in the release of their debut album "Purity" preceded by the 12" single "Endless Lakes", which were both received very well, especially in Holland and Germany. A track very popular with the radio- and club-DJ's was "The Cat", which was remixed and released as a second 12".
1987 saw the release of the follow-up album "A Monument of Trust" and the single "A Mirage", a catchy tune that made the top 10 in Spain. It was then, that The Essence started to tour Europe extensively, building up a strong and faithful following in, amongst others, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland and the UK.
The popularity of the group continued to grow with the release of the third album "Ecstasy" in 1988. The videos of the singles "Only For You" and "Like Christ" (1990) got regular airplay on MTV. Until the end of 1990, the band successfully toured throughout Europe.
The group recorded their fourth CD "Nothing Lasts Forever", a powerful and dark concept album, released November 1991, which gave them a large following all around the world, amongst others Japan and the USA.
To close the first period, a "best of.." CD was released by Cherry Red Records in 1994 entitled "Dancing In The Rain", accompanied by the single "A Mirage '94 - The Mixes". The following year, a coverversion of "A Mirage" by Spanish group "Esquema" was again a hit in Spain.
1996 saw the release of the fifth studio-album 'Glow', on CNR international records, more than ever proving the original and international potential of the band. During their 1996 shows, numerous quality live recordings were made for possible future release. Now more than 10 years after their last release the band will play a full set in Rotterdam again!!

The Dreamside:

The Dreamside wordt in 1994 opgericht door zangeres Kemi Vita. Het debuutalbum Pale Blue Lights verschijnt in het oprichtingsjaar bij het label Nuclear Blast. Het minialbum Nuda Veritas is meer gericht op de dansvloer. Na het vertrek van gitarist, Chapman Stick-speler en medeoprichter Remco Helbers (naar Born For Bliss) verandert het geluid van de band, zoals te horen op het derde album Apaika (1996). Hun gothic-sound is verwant met bands als Dead Can Dance en The Gathering. The Dreamside speelt op diverse festivals in Nederland, Duitsland en Polen en staat onder meer in 1997 op het Wave-Gothic-Treffen in Leipzig.
Het geluid op Mirror Moon (2001) is harder en de band gebruikt voor het eerst live drums. 4 Factor (2003) is een compilatie met de Amerikaanse bands The Crüxshadows, Paralysed Age en Thou Shalt Not. Vlak voor de opnamen van het album Spin Moon Magic (2005) voegt drummer Merijn Mol zich bij de band.
The Dreamside wordt door de lezers van het Amerikaanse magazine Gothic Beauty gekozen als beste band van het jaar 2005. De stad Bakersfield in Californië vernoemt twee straten in een nieuwbouwwijk naar The Dreamside: Dreamside Way en Kemi Street, genoemd naar zangeres Kemi Vita. Het Amerikaanse label Dancing Ferret Discs brengt alle platen van de band opnieuw uit aangevuld met beeldmateriaal en andere extra's.
Het dertienjarig jubileum werd gevierd met de uitgave van een dertien nummers tellende cd met daarop, naast twee nieuwe nummers, remixen door Angels & Agony, Hungry Lucy, Lunascape en Jan Yrlund (Satyrian, Delain, Imperia) en gastbijdragen van de Japanse dichter Kenji Sitatori, Vigilante, 18Summers en Karl Fieldhouse van Born From Pain.

Akanoid:

AKANOID was born in the year 1999 by Hilton Theissen (also founder of the early 90`s metalband Dark Millennium and its following projects) and Uwe Lübbers, intended to be an alternative and "hungry for experimental styles" dance project.
After very short time they were discovered by the underground label Insolation / Zoomia releasing three singles, two albums and a "best of" compilation within the following four years. All of these outputs were produced by own hand in their new founded ELEKTROFISH Studio.
New ideas and the upcoming wish to get back to song-orientated structures with much more vocal features finally lead to a new contract with a new label named Echozone. "Cocktail Pop", the fourth longplayer, supported by two single EPs ("On Air Again" followed by "Usual Freak") was the result of this fresh cooperation heading for new strategies referring to marketing, promotional features and visualization, presenting a well developed style combining Electro Pop with 80s influences and Alternative / Indie Pop. A new live performance according to the new structured concept was requested and fullfilled by hiring Phil Weyer on the guitar and Dirk Meyer-Berhorn on drums.
Due to personal reasons Uwe quit the band in autumn 2007 shortly before the De/Vision support tour and was replaced by Daggy Fischer for the synth job and also performing addotional backing vocals.This new band constellation kept playing several concert shows within the following year, found new partnerships with the booking agency WOD and the AMV Talpa Publishing company and had a third and exclusively online single EP release with "Nexx".
In July 2008 the four went on tour with The Crüxshadows promoting their new EP "100 Burning Guitars". The last album Civil Demon was be released in may 2009 and is a symbol to the next big step meaning to the bands stylistic progress and live performance.

Contrast:

Contrast was founded in Amsterdam in 2002. The music is best described as a mixture of dark electro, combined with dark wave and gothic elements. In December 2003, Contrast finished the first demo-MCD "The Devastation Files". From this demo, the song Follow the leaders appeared on the CD DeCODEr (a compilation by Suicide Commando) and the CD 10 years DJ -X-X-X. In November 2005 Contrast released the second demo "Preparations". In May 2009 Contrast released their first full-lenght album on Triple Handshake Records: Antidote. Antidote did get a lot of good reviews worldwide and finished position 1 in the Dutch Underground Charts!

Industriegebiet:

Industriegebiet is an one-man Industrial/Noize project from M assi mo from Germany and exists since 2005. Ater the first noize album "west" in 2005 Industriegebiet released their new album "Hodenkapsel" in october 2008, wich is a little kind more of Industrial. The Körperschall remix Sampler together with Ellipse "Ellipse vs. Insustriegebiet" with remixacts like Acylum, Soman, Novastorm, Frequenzgänger, Mechanical Moth and sinthetic squad reached after a start on rank 9 in the german alternative charts rank 4 at top. In September 2008 the band released the video "sex mit einer Leiche" on the internet. Live Industriegebiet is M assi mo (livesynhs) and Ö Edrum (guitar). Ö joined Industriegebiet 2008. Now they are working on their liveset to get you as fast as possible
