This has got to sound dumb, but I've only just discovered, after living in Northern California for 52 years, that there are frozen lakes in the Sierra Nevada. (OK, OK, I guess I believed my father when I was little when he said, "Are you kidding? Lakes in California are too deep and the season too short to freeze large lakes.")
Lakes like Silver, Prosser and, sometimes, Boca get enough ice to drive vehicles onto--and certainly, enough to sail on?
Can anybody point me to a sailing group on any of these, or nearby, lakes?
Thanks!
