hi pako, since you have been in tioman for quite some times, could you please tell me some legend and the tioman's evolution of tourism industry??or may be the situation of tioman before and after it became duty-free island?

I've visited Tioman for more than 20 times and in particular Salang Bay.In my opinion Tioman Island Its not going to change much for the next 20 years even the Island will be a duty free Island for that matter simply because it's only involved one particular area thats is Kg Tekek.As I see it the goverment will runs it exactly how they did it in Langkawi Island.Only certain designated area will be transform for shoppings complex and community centre and its about less than 5% of the total Island perimeter.
Langkawi people enjoy the enconomy booms which is initiated by the goverment by participating in tourism industries activities in particular and others in general but at the same time they together with the govermebt preserved the buty and nature of the island and its proven that all the amazing heritage is still intact as it is or even better with the upgradings.
I urge people arround the world do not have to worries so much about the transformation of the Island to Duty Free Island as the goverment and people of facinated Malaysia knows well whats best for them,thier future generations and people arround the world for thier interest.
