Pako, I got the news that you are leaving Tioman. This does indeed bring many thoughts to my mind, and even if they don't relate to previous subjects on "the corner"... So what?!

First of all, I'm impressed. You're giving up one paradise in search for another, which has got to take quite a lot of courage. Secondly, I'm depressed: You're leaving a paradise!!!
What is it in us humans that makes us so restless? Is this wish for something new good or bad? Hm, maybe an irrelevant question since good and bad is just a judgement by an observer..
Most people are searching for something in their lifes: more money, a new relation, experience of new cultures, nirvana etc. And even finding a paradise isn't enough to stop this search! Maybe this is how life will be, a continuos searh for something new. But I truly hope that I can sit down one day, and get that increadible feeling of "enough". Of being satisfied, of being happy for all the little things next to where I sit.

A poor fisherman is sitting on the beach, enjoing the sunset. A businessman walks by, and starts talking to the fisherman. -You know, if you were out fishing instead of just sitting here, you could catch some extra fish. >So? -Then you could sell that fish on the market, to make some extra money. >So? -And with time you would make enough money to buy another boat, and after many years even start a fishing-business. >Continue! -And with the money you make from that business you could retire to a relaxing life. >Would this take long? -Well, yes, many years of hard work, but then you can retire. >And what would I do when I retire? -Enjoy life! For example, you could just sit here, and watch the sunset...

Really, what am I doing in the office today?

i dunno, life isn't all about fun, relaxation and living in a paradise. don't you enjoy your work. doesn't it give you pleasure to wake up in the morning and look forward to the new challenges that the day will bring. isn't it one of the greatest satisfactions to do a good job and be proud of one's achievements, without having to be jealous of others. hard work does not at all mean not being able to spend the day or one's free time sitting on a rock fishing or reading or socialising. and egypt is paradise as well, with beautiful dive sites. some ppl even think tioman suckz, coz it can be very boring and normal. paradise is more than what your friends have. it's how you live your life. whatever.
