Okay, now that I have recovered from the world's stupidest canoe race (95 hours in June), it is time for some fun - the Colorado River 100 mile race in south TX. The race is next Saturday the 3rd, and I have somehow talked Jennifer Cooper into racing in a tandem with me. The debate is still out on whether or not she was drunk when she agreed to do this, and since it was just before 8 in the morning I am thinking yes. Our team name is RAW Determination, and both Reba and Kevin will be our crew so I will tell them to post an update or two along the way. For those of you who might be extremely bored next Saturday, just click this link:
and you call follow our progression down the river with little electronic pings every 10 minutes. If you click the link and see some local stuff on there, you are looking at some of our recent training runs. I will clear the link of all info before the race.
Our goals are:
1 - finish in less than 20 hours
2 - not get eaten by an alligator (I have told Jennifer that there are no alligators, just 6 foot alligator gar, but she does not seem to be relieved at all by this fact)
3 - come in 3rd in our class
Wish us luck and hope that Jennifer still likes me after next Saturday!
