TIR was a big success. Way more fun than I thought it would be. What's not to like? 22 fools running for 25 to 30+ hours with no sleep! So much fun we want to do another relay this summer.
Who is more than 75% interested in doing the C2A 143 mile relay on August 6-7? Already 14-15 lost souls want to be on the list! Please resond here or let me know.
Some of the specifics: Starts in Austin near the capital and ends at the Alamo. Team size is 8 (could go to 10). Each person does 4 legs and around 17-18 miles.
How Much: Roughly $350/person, 125 upfront and the rest by June 30.125/person to register (sometime in April), 80/person for a van/gas (lesson learned from TIR), 70-140 on lodging (2/room at the Hyatt. 70 if one night and 140 if two nights. Checking on what the estimated start time would be).If a late start I would opt for driving down on Saturday, starting the relay, spending Sunday at the Riverwalk, and back on Monday. This could lower the cost by almost 90 bucks. TBD $$$/person on misc. (shirt, food, beverages).
How long will it take? If 9 min pace (21.4 hours). If 7 min pace (16.5 hours).
Yes this is summer in TX, but the daylight legs are short (2-4 miles) and the night legs longer (5-7 miles).
