I think the latest chip been used in developed countries like America and Britain is the way to go. These chips will be used in-place of ATM cards which can be inserted in our body.
This will minimize;

1. Fraud in Banks
2. Stealing
3. Pick pockets
4. Hold ups

and the list goes on. There are alot of advantages about these micro chips.

Yeah, like WHERE are these being used in developed countries? The fact is, a lot of people are resisting because they worry that the banks (or better yet, the government) will programme these chips to monitor YOU. At least, that's what I read is the concern.
