My wife has noted that people use glass epoxy'd in place (12" x 1/2") but I'm not likely to find that at Home Depot. Also, the bowfront made cutting glass difficult.
Epoxying a piece of shiny aluminum into place, would satisfy her probably quite nicely. I can likely find that in a reasonably easy manner.
Sometimes the obvious answer gets missed.
The tugh part on this whole operation (and what drove the decision for two bars instead of a single brace) is that she doesn't want to empty the tank when we do this. So I had to come up with a way to add a new brace, then remove the existing brace.
The idea of epoxying in a 1/4" piece of bar stock will work nicely. I'll break out the dremel and polish it to a high shine as well.
