Sorry for the delay in responding but had way too much going on this year with health & deaths.

Your first one is a Large Milkweek Bug. They eat maturing or matured milkweed seeds but normally do no harm. I have many of them, especially on the common milkweed.

Not sure about your 2nd one but kinda looks like one I posted awhile back....type of Katydid. Will have to investigate that one some more.
