I have a .177 CS standard with the patented piston currently stripped and being rebuilt for shooting, not for show.
I removed the old metal washer surprisingly easily with a pair of long nosed pliers and can
refit/ re screw it back on but due to a damaged face I decided to get a new washer bush and leather to replace it.
The new metal washer is of a smaller outer and inner diameter and I cannot get the new one
to engage on the piston stud. I assume the different outer diameter is smaller to accommodate the thicker leather ?
Old metal washer in the middle, new metal to the left and all the measurements are in inches.
Are there variations of thread pitch and/or diameter on these piston studs and washers because I find it most odd that the replacement part has a smaller internal diameter.
I see no way of fitting the new metal washer and I think will have to resort to the old washer and severely trimming down the leather washer to fit.
Any views, comments and assistance is much appreciated.
