Old fashioned lubrication

Response to Cengar green oil , pre war springs & washers

The local gun shop where I lived as a teenager, and where I spent endless hours in my spare time, used a mixture of 3 in 1 oil, and vasaline, and they used to lubricate leather washers sparingly with that combination, applied with an old crows feather of all things. It used to be in an old dried milk powder tin on the bench, however the tin was covered in so much dirt & crud you could hardly make out the writing, which gave away its origin.

Happy Days!
