Not a hope in Hell. All the good players in GTHL have gone to AA level and even very Crappy A players can make AA in the GTHL.

In OMHA the smaller communites have a few AAA players and several AA players playing at the A level so they can stay close to home.

OMHA or Alliance will win OHF hands down.

The only threat from GTHL will come from the East because the West is absolute crap this year I have never seen it so bad maybe it's because every decent player has gone up to fill the rosters of 17 AA teams which leaves no talent to supply 12 single A teams. Even an All-Star team from the 97A West couldn't beat the top single A teams outside of Toronto. It's going to be a waste of a trip for whatever GTHL travels to the OHF's this year to be emberassed like the Eagles were 2 years ago.

Re: Does the GTHL representative have any chance winning the 97A OHFs this year.

If the GTHL had in each age group:

8 - AAA teams

8 – AA teams East and West (16 total)

8 - A teams East and West (16 total)

******

Everyone plays a 35 game schedule (7 opponents x 5 games each), everyone makes the playoffs.

This would go a long way to creating a bit of parity internally (no more 0-36 clubs at the bottom of the pile), and would have the Toronto teams closer by comparison to centres outside the G.

It would also create an atmosphere of accelerated hockey development, with no nights off whipping some bottom feeder 9-0.

------------------------------

Right now the Bantam age group has 69 teams in the city (12 AAA, 28 AA and 29 A).

Bringing that down to 40 teams (8 AAA, 16 AA and 16 A) means 435 fewer players are in the G in the Bantam age group.
Weaker AAA players would be pushed down to AA... weaker AA players down to A.... weaker A players back to Select.

Of course, 435 players gone from the age group is about a half million fewer dollars for the GTHL and the member associations to split up between them.
This doesn't include money made from gate fees, jersey and hockey bag sales, etc. Gotta keep the machine rolling, baby needs a new pair of shoes.

Great. Who has the dough to buy out all of these organizations you want to get rid of. The G sure doesnt. Each owner will want 300K plus as that is low end market value. AAA are way more dough.

Please explain Sarah Palin.

October 13 2011, 2:11 PM

1:47 here...

Buying out 29 teams in Bantam at $300,000+ per team would be about $9 million. Multiply that through eight age groups and it comes to $72 million. It would start to make sense to build a few new four plexes of your own (a la MasterCard Centre) and just start your own league. Or the City of Toronto could do that themselves and get hockey out of the private realm, as it's done in smaller centres. There's a lot of older rinks in this city with enough land space to raze the old rinks and put in new double pads or triples or quads.

All I'm saying is there's enough quality hockey players in this city to compete with any centres from outside Toronto. What's limiting is the dilution of the talent with so many G clubs.

RG is a great coach who had to put up with retarded parents and uncoachable kids last year now he will show everyone what he is capable of.Barney Bat Boy and Camel Jockey must be having a shit after taking their kids were they don`t belong and that is AA, houseleague is where those clowns and their kids belong.Have fun watching Duffield finish top 3 in the A loop this year without you guys.

212 you must be new to this loop or you have just been brainwashed by RG. DD has had way better team than this year in the past and he could not do anything with, most of those parents will spit on you if you talk about RG to them. Those two clowns are just two of the frustated parents from past teams that saw the light of bad coaching and now like the rest are being called whatever you like to call them. Just enjoy watching his kid play and be the centre of the universe. One of many pissed of parents that spend over 3500 on a wasted season just like are going to do.. NO Kraft Cup no Scotiabank west championship and unless you enter an even watered down tournament than the Aces no tournament wins.LOL

Most likely it will be Oakville or Woolwich...or more likely one of the teams from the alliance. They have not determined their A or AA team seeding yet. There's a bunch of good Alliance teams that could end up playing in the A...cambridge, stratford, Sarnia, Waterloo Black, Kitchener....if any of these teams end up in the A....they will win it hands down.

GTHL & MHL should not bother sending a team this season. It is a waste of all the other teams time. GTHL & MHL don't even send their best teams. They should be sending the playoff Champs.

For OHF they should pick 2 teams from either Alliance or OMHA and leave GTHL out.

GTHL wins its share of OHF's, no reason to start cutting teams.

Besides, cut all those teams and that's a lot less gate fee cash coming in every night. Its not like JG can put those old people at soccer fields to collect bags of cash.

PC team won because they too got a couple AAA level kids to play down to A level for fun with friends. There are several OMHA teams at 97A with AAA and AA kids on their teams. Only way to win. In GTHL there is not one team with that mix. Winner will come from OMHA. Waterloo has goalie and 2 centres. Should be enough to win.

Willodale Blackhawks 97A would have a strong chance. Most of the team is made up of top A and some samller but very fast former AA players. Most of the kids go to the same scholl that is wahy they have all gone to the team. Team missed play-offs last year, now top of East A.
