Yes those ref's just pick some numbers out of a hat after a goal for the game sheet..they do sometimes get it wrong but not enough to make a big difference in the overall picture. So you are accusing the team rep that inputs the stats of 'making changes'...whatever!

most times when a goalie knocks the net off it is because he can sense a defensive zone breakdown or the kids in front of him need a change. sucks when you are on the losing end of it but if the goalie has a good relationship with the ref a delay of game is rarely called....it's called time management

Just to clarify, the short bench of 12 regular skaters and 1 AP is due to injury and had the coach's not taken 17 skaters they may have had only 10 skaters plus an AP. That why you take extra at MM. yes the guys that are left are playing well with the extra minutes but iit is not sutainable long term. You need a 3rd line and a 5-6 D for relief.

I think the decline references their performance recently. Loss to SC at Gold Puck, loss to HP in league play. close wins against Brant and tie v Camb.

When you take the 3 best players off the Bantam EMC champs and put them on an already strong Gold team, they should do well yet their performance of late is less then great.

just had a chuckle. we all know that huron perth pads their goalie shots but i think he got a bit carried away. he should maybe pull his toque up so he cpuld see or maybe he should be told that you don't include warmups. what a moron. 420 shots . yeah, i think so, with that team. does he think we are all as stupid as him.

emc coach is laughed at too except for BA and SA they are in tight hahahaha....three years in a row they have been 'diddling' with the coaching staff...Major pw SA and RB had something going, last year PP and SA had a 'thing' and this year she is manager and BA is controling the game sheets - that a boy BA between being on your knees and salavating all over the jr b coaches (who think you are an idiot) WG will be a shoe in!
emc coach knows nothing, the boys depend on their assistant coach who really isn't that good either

EMC is a class organization as a whole. It's unfortunate that 1 person single handedly dismantaled a great 96 team and then ran. The 4 players that made the move to gold are obviously the smartest and some of the most talented that EMC had. Most of the idiots talking bad about specific 15 year old kids on gold, are pissed off parents and kids that are left behind to deal with the bs that comes with the 96 emc team. I'd be pissed off too, but come on...grow up. The majority of 15 year olds playing this level of hockey are great kids!

A parent from the oemhl aaa uc cyclones here lmfao, Always knew that the uneducated parent pimps on n54 were jokes but explain to me how a kid averaging almost 100 goals a year can go so long without being noticed by us joke that don't know jack about shit let alone hockey.

Case in point, SW of ljk-gold listed on teams website with 66 goals in 48 games and 94 pts (tops in province i believe) and 57 pts in league play for a 5pt lead in alliance scoring with 5 games left. But it took us parent pimps till Dec.7 to cut this phenominal player (probally the purest goal scorer in the draft class). He's not like ohl's tanner pearson who come from nowhere to post pheonominal numbers. SW has put these numbers up for 7 consecutive years and flew under radar until now. I know this because they beat out my kids team in major atom capital cup final.

To me this proves two things: 1. that his parents have stayed off of n54 and let his play do the talking and 2.that 9 out of 10 parent pimps on here no nothing about hockey and are on here because their kid has not played his way to the minds of ohl managers.

I say we all shut the hell up and let this strong group of players determine where they get drafted with their play and not that of their big mouth parents bogus comments.

SW is a talented player who deserves to be noticed and drafted accordingly - he should go first or a top second without question. Love the fact his parents focus on hockey - when you are a solid player, no one has to sell you or put you in "show and displays" in the spring etc...he is on the ice with a select few in the summer working on basics, basics, basics. His brother MW is also very talented and is finally getting the recognition he too deserves. I believe he will be in the top four rounds, talented D are always an asset.

As we enter the holiday season, I hope you reflect on the positive side of the sport your child has enjoyed for many years. I ask you to think about the players who don't get the glory but show up each game and try their very best. Perhaps the goalie on a struggling team that knows as he enters the ice his team will be beaten badly, but he still steps up. Reflect on the winger who keeps going into the corners knowing he is going to get checked, again....and again, but he still soldiers forward. The player on the bench who serves the 10 minute penalties and misses "his turn" so the more talented player can play (yes its competitive but he's there, with his equipment on, helping his team, wishing he could step up and score the big goal).

Penned many years ago, but still as inspirational today as it was many years ago:

Ham D has potential to be a late rounder
Chatham has 1 good D
Lambton has a D with good size, may be a late rounder

Elgin - no
Green - no
Cambridge - no

Remember folks, its not the team that gets you drafted, its the individual player.
All players listed above (sorry don't know initials) all have really good Defensive skills and will go somewhere, note most of them on losing teams.....

when you score 5-7 goals a game your defense tend to lay back.....

Politics has been LJKS 96 problem since Minor Atom. They had a group of kids then that were ranked #3 in NA....not just Ont. The same top six have been consistent throughout the years but the ba**washing and cock*ucking keeps messing up the bottom half. You have to have a full team.

There may have been politics, but in atom, Gold took the Marlies into overtime twice, losing 2-1. The problem has always been the coaches' reliance on a select few and failure to develop everyone else. In my opinion, it's the LJK association's fault for handing an extremely talented team, dismal coaches in the peewee years. It has taken years for the team to catch up and now, they are only able to compete with the assistance of outside talent, developed elsewhere.

Looking to blame someone? Blame the Association for hiring coaches that were easily swayed by parental ambitions. One can only laugh at the association's president, KG's statement, "the Junior Knights are eager to develop kids". Note that he no longer stipulates "London" kids.

It is unfortunate for the remainder of the Alliance that London chooses to go the route of the Marlies and neglect boundaries, while London is now capable again of competing with the bigger centers, I have to wonder at what cost? Associations can now brag about draft numbers but not necessarily development, coaches are now recognized for gathering talent versus teaching it, parents can now boast of wins but are their sons contributing equally and finally the players themselves, in this system, are they trully being pushed beyond their comfort zone to become the best team mates possible?

Something to think about as the boundary issue comes up again.

The teams who are ahead of London all have one thing in common...the ability to recruit. Stop whining about coaches and development. The Marlie roster is completely different from that roster years ago. Do you think the Marlie coaches developed them? Hell, their long time coach and his kid are no longer even with the team! London's developmnent has been no better/worse than anyone else's in the Alliance or the OMHA with the exception,imo, of Sun County. In fact, London has more of the same kids on its roster than any of the teams ahead of them in N America. Why were the Chiefs so good for a few years? Kids from Sarnia and St Mary's made a big difference. Top teams must gather talent to compete. Perhaps you should blame the FC system for not developing talent to feed the Knights? Perhaps you should just let it go and enjoy the rest of the season.

You're missing the point. If the focus becomes recruiting instead of development, you're looking short term. Chief kids are an excellent example. The cream of their talent left. Talent comes and goes ...injuries, size, defections etc... Education is permanent and promotes team membership. Good coaching attracts talent, develops those with a good work ethic, and retains loyalty.

Furthermore, gathering all of the top end players on one team within the Alliance means a boring regular season and creates bad habits which are difficult to overcome when you play harder teams.

Look long term for once, instead of focusing only on what's best for you. Your time is almost up. Parents who have been there need to step up and pressure the Association to focus on development for both coaches and players at all levels.

Here's another thing the top teams have.....paid coaching. Where do you think these coaches that you speak of are going to come from? Who in their right mind would volunteer to deal with parents who only see their own kid? These coaches you are so quick to dismiss were always present, were always kind to the kids and gave their best effort. This year, because of an exlosion in Chief land, some kids moved into London. I would hardly call this a new focus on recruitment. It was a one time situation where better players moved into town. Once a kid moves, a coach is free to take him. There is no such thing as loyalty at the top levels of sport....even minor sport. The reverse happened last year with London players moving to EMC. In the Alliance, it seems to be a MM thing and it appears to go in all directions as Lambton is also much improved due to residence changes. It is the nature of the game and it is not the result of peewee coach selection.

I don't disagree with you. Perhaps, paid coaches are the key, but with the salary I would expect accountability and credibility. But then again, isn't the additional pay the former EMC coach received at the root of the Chief defection as we've all been told?

My point is that at any level of hockey, but most obviously, at AAA hockey, perhaps, the priorities have shifted from long term development to short term wins and I'm not exactly sure that it will benefit anyone down road.

Think 10 years from now, what has your son learned this year that will help him, when his playing days are done?

Yes, a different set of problems arise with paid coaches. So....where are your coaches going to come from? What is your answer? You want free, dedicated, knowledgeable, motivated individuals who will..? Your son, like 99% of the others, would not have been good enough regardless of who coached. Your son has learned a valuable lesson this year...one year before the rest of them.

Parents of the LJK let you in a little secret. The kids from emc were told they will be helped as much as possible to get drafted if they defect over from emc. Clearly and it has been proven on the team that the coaching staff has its favorites. There has been different rules for different kids on the team all year. Just check website stats and you can see who the favorites are. What seizes to amaze me though that none of the LJK parents tried to put a stop to this from the begining. Maybe because they were scared it would effect them in there draft but look were it got you no were. I have watched this team and some players on the team that have the potential of being better or equal to there top picks but the coaching staff has let these kids down. (T.D. , K.P. , A.K. , B.V., R.B.) I Truly feel for these kids they fought an up hill battle and could not win. Boys Keep your Head up and I am pretty sure you all will do well in the next level of hockey. As for the coaching staff I hope you Boys have learned a valuable lesson Wich will probably help you guys in the following years.

Those comments are so stupid...it's almost funny. LJK are now 4th in OHL Cup rankings and the TEAM has worked hard to get there....confirming OHL has identified many prospects on this team....so shame on you for putting those kids initials down as if hockey is over for them and for talking indirectly about other kids...they are all extremley talented and have just as much opportunity to do well come draft day. We almost tie gold and although our boys dont have Londons skill the game was close .Watched London coach lose it on player for not getting it deep yet let other player hog the puck, stay out for 2 min shifts and basically ignore coach when told to get off. Refs definetly pro london and yet might be team to upset in playoffs.

I have seen numerous games on Monday night at wf and you are exactly. I have observed that the coach has rules for some kids and other not for other.It will get them in the end. I have seen the top players not getting it deep staying out so long they can hardly get back to the bench nothing said lots of players sit and as for goal tenders they might get 10 shots a game but consitently let in goals

So no matter what team the Rangers are playing he rotates the lines equally...he does not have role players cause that gives some players more ice on the PP or PK depending on how many penalities etc in the game and this would leave some feeling like they 'were not treated equally'...give me a break it's not about being treated fairly it's about winning hockey games and some kids are just better in certain situations than others. It will only get worse if you don't understand the nature of competitive sports.

In one segment, Torts rips Marian Gaborik about not playing hard enough. He is an extremely skilled player. In other words, extremely skilled players get treated the same as less skilled players. In another segment, they talk about having two bad shifts in a row, and not expecting to see any more ice after that.

Yes ass munch, I am from a small town outside of Ottawa who boundries belong to Upper canada cyclones. Know your hockey centres before you rip people up. And read the full blog. I mention ec ranked 7 on the list from my ucc and two smiths falls boys who are on ucc. I have no kids there fore i have know ties to anyone in aaa hockey. I enjoy the game and have followed the knights since they beat my cyclones (rideau st. lawrence kings prior to minor bantam) in the bell capital cup. So i'm truly sorry if i forgot to mention your kid but 66 goals in 48 games in a year where every single kid is playing at the top of their game in the hopes of being drafted is worth mentioning.

London coach plays the same kids for the whole 2 minutes every PP no matter what the score is. And then gives those kids a plus when they finally get one. Anyone should be able to figure out what this does to the other players on a team. And this is why London will not win in the end.

Problem is the US scholarships are hard to obtain and the full rides are offered to very few Canadians...most to kids ranked high in draft. It can be very expensive to take a partial scholarship...costing more than University here and not always certain the hockey is any better unless it is at a Divison 1 school...tough decisions.

That's where marks come into play. You get 60% academic scholloe and 40% athletic. Good students are very attractive to US schools because they are no risk academically and help to raise team average. Very few early round picks choose the NCAA route.

Huge game today HP and Cambridge. Loser gets the much tougher playoff route. Lambton in the quarters, London in the semis..I would say a berth in the OHL cup rides on this game.

Must be an EMC parent. They are totally bitter this season as they were outcoached in the off season,
and it continues to the end of the year.
It would really suck to be on that team.
