Speak up and ask the other players if they will back up your story. Change teams at the end of the season. Sadly, I don't believe much will be done about it, even though the coach should lose his position. |

I love how the first post is change teams. What does that accomplish? How about bringing it up to the vp of your org? If the guy abuses you he should not be coaching anywhere. |

8:12 I absolutely agree it should be brought up and dealt with. BUT this is the GTHL and I'm telling you not always do things work out like they should, they don't take much seriously and Speak Out Canada is not much better. Parents don't want to get involved for fear of black balling their child and it is wrong but for some strange reaston in minor hockey they ignore what is right and what is wrong.
Change teams asap. The coach is a loser. |

Suggestion for you OP: Stop doing stupid plays. Try your best to improve your play and do what your coach is asking you to do on the ice. Contribute to the team! |

thanks to those that responded with advice and to the others.... not worth my time....
i don't play in this province, i only posted here because i just wanted some advice. my coach is my friends dad and he was a fighter in the pros and he is an ass who has run off players for years. i just never thought he would treat me like this. he only cares about his own son getting drafted and treats me and a few other good players like sh8t and now we are playing like sh8t. it makes me mad when my parents are nice to the guy even when i have told them some of the stuff before. everyone is just so worried about where we get drafted and that we are better than the next team. like our coaches care more than we do.
there is so much bs in hockey that i don't even want to play anymore.... rec maybe.... but this is just not fun any more. but before i quit i think im gonna make sure everyone knows what this coach and his henchmen assistants are all about. |

What province are you playing in? I coach A/AA in the Alliance and I can say it completely depends on your organization, some presidents will have all there buddys coaching and getting them canned might be hard to do. If you have no luck with your org. vp then I would go straight to Hockey Canada and reference the Speak Out course that all coaches have to take. This is a complete violation of Hockey Canada's policies. The guy should be banned from coaching if it is as bad as you say it is. That is just my opinion though. Don't quit hockey ! Try dropping down to less competitive league where the coaches are less concerned with their careers and more concerned with how to better each individual player and HAVING FUN!!!! I know those are my top priorities. |
