With all the racial slurs and trash talking maybe we should be focus on things that are more importantr than winning a craapy A hockey level. Too many of these kids need more direction and discipline. |

Tell that to the parents who do nothing and the coaches who really do nothing because they dont want to lose their good players for the balance of the season.
Keep sweeping this under the rug when you can. Pathetic. |

Part of the mandate of a Director of Discipline of any MHL organization is to dole out appropriate punishment to any player who acts outside of the boundaries of the rules of play. Regardless of whether the referees were aware of it. To the best of my knowledge said person is a parent on this Meadowvale team and that is his title per their web page.
This person was aware of it as he made a lame apology to one of the affected childs parents. The Head Coach of this team apparently did nothing.
Throwing around the N word is a heinous contradiction of the rules of play. The CO kid gets 17 games and this kid gets nothing but protection from the coach and the said director. Might lose a game without your alleged best player.
No apology was ever made to the child from anyone. ME justs sweeps this under the rug and goes about their daily business of setting penalty records and running and hacking every other player in sight. Just win baby as Al Davis once said and who cares what anybody thinks about it.
Time for this coach to go as there have been years upon years of this behaviour by his teams. Very sad state of affairs when this sort of thing occurs and absolutely nothing is done.

What a mess. My kid hates playing them because he usually gets an appendectomy from a couple of sticks to the gut and continually being trashed talked at by the biggest nutjobs around. That is of course he isnt hit from behind or just hacked at.
What a circus. Where does this goof recruit from? The School for Wayward Children? |

There will be many surprises this year AP. You are not fast enough. CO is not quick enough either and both of you will get exposed more in playoffs when game speed picks up. Look out for ME, ER, PC and LP in playoffs as they all have kids who can take their speed up to another level that your kids cant compete against. CO goalie and AP coaching will not work. take it to bank limbo man. |

What are you talking about JACKASS?
Speed doesn't win playoff games, its always goaltending and defense that will carry a team
And thats where CO dominates !

PC 2 CO 2
AP 3 CO 2
CO 0 ER 4
CL 1 CO 2
CO 1 CV 1

I guess the positive would be only 2 loses in the last 8 league games and we are all about the positive here |

CO goaltending is outstanding dont get your shorts in a knot you just dont have the horses that can skate at playoff pace. Goalie can only hold off so much before he breaks.
AP has best passing and team based play in league BY FAR. Again in playoffs you are just not fast enough. You can put you 2 go to guys together only a few times limbo. Other teams know your moves. In reg season no one tried to counter.
Me thinks AP will get through round 1 then gone. CO will get beat by CL. |

Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97A MHL Playoff Edition | January 30 2012, 9:20 PM |
ODDS MAKER PLAYOFF EDITION...
1/4's:
AP vs CV = AP
ME/CO vs CL = ME/CO
ME/CO vs LP = ME/CO
ER vs PC = Even season, 2 wins,2 losses, 1 tie = coin toss
Semi's:
AP vs ER/PC = AP has edge in reg season over ER or PC = AP
ME vs CO = Co has edge in reg.season = CO
So if you go with the odds then AP should play CO in the finals.
CO has season edge head to head = CO champs.

So the ME remnants play LP in the first round.
If the LP coach is smart he will have the ref take the gamesheet over to the ME bench for each game. The rules state that if a team thinks the other team is using ineligible players those players have to put their name, # and sign the back of the gamesheet. Then the MHL can cross reference against their records after the game.
ME is well known for playing suspended players with different jerseys. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97A MHL Playoff Edition | February 1 2012, 10:14 AM |
If all the suspension talk is true ME should only have 8 or 9 players eligible for the first 2 games of the playoffs and the Head coach should not be on the bench for either of those games.
If I was LP coach I would be getting this all sorted ou by calling the MHL this week. |

Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97A MHL Playoff Edition | February 1 2012, 10:18 AM |
lets get back to predictions
1st round
AP dominated CV so this over quick - take AP
CO tight games with CL but dominated - take CO
ME lost season series to LP but games close - take LP as ME many suspensions
ER even with PC - flip a coin as this will be the closest series - take PC on hunch
2nd round
AP beat LP most games but tight over season - take AP in long series
CO beat PC most games over season - take CO in tough series
3rd round
CO takes AP in battle of 2 slow but disclipened teams as best goalie in league by far |

Have you ever noticed that some kids on occassion wash their jerseys or maybe mom does
And so little johnny packs up his stuff and oops forgets his jersey.
Does daddy run half way across the city with the game starting in 10 minutes to get it or does he borrow the jersey of a concussed player
Hmmm let me think

Now that is a great spin. Is that published in the Meadowvale Handbook? Why is it your team does this every game. Its very rare on the others. Does that mean the parents on this team are considerably more stupid than others.
You ME parents are the biggest, to use your terminology, THE BIGGEST FUCKTARDS around. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97A MHL Playoff Edition | February 1 2012, 10:27 AM |
Actually, with ME it is the suspended player that typically ends up on the ice wearing the concussed (but not reported) players jersey.

Meadowvale also has players wear diferent jerseys so it is easy to say that certain players were not suspended. What they say is they got the wrong player for the suspension because he was wearing another kids Jersey.
Everyone hopes this is the last season for the BS training wreck of undiscipline players with no direction or proper adult guidance. Parents are tired of this teams specific mission to injure other players. |

Quite a void in your life mon ami |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97A MHL Playoff Edition | February 1 2012, 10:42 AM |
ME can claim anything they want. The rules are that if the gamesheets says player 'X' is suspened, then player 'X' is suspended. It doesn't matter that the game sheet is wrong. The jersey # is meaningless, the name listed against that # on gamesheet drives the suspension. We had a mistake last year and the wrong player had to sit out 2 games, nothing could be done.
The lack of respect displayed by the ME players is a reflection of the coaching.
At first I felt bad for the 2 or 3 players on this team that are respectful that may suffer if the league suspends the team from the playoffs, but ME has shown a complete lack of respect for the MHL and their opponents at every level & opportunity. Perhaps the whole team should be suspended, even the parents that are aware of what is going on are complicit in their silence. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97A MHL Playoff Edition | February 1 2012, 10:43 AM |
The only void is between your ears ME parent. This behaviour is disgusting. This is not a one time incident. This goes on every game you play. Apparently this lot has the worse parenting in the world. Im sure the normal parents on this team just want to run for the exits after witnessing this season.
How many coming back next year? |

Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97A MHL Playoff Edition | February 1 2012, 10:51 AM |
If this team had a proper Head Coach this mess would have been fixed several seson ago.
THe other bad thing is both Head Coach and Director or Discipline's kids have had multiple suspensions this season and they are not been made to sit out additional games because the Head Coach has mde sure the Director of Discipline is a parent on the team. The apples don't fall far from the trees so if the coaches kids can play dirty and fight so can all of the players on this team.
Time for MHL to suspend this head coach for at least 1 full season so he understands what minor hockey is all about. |

No kidding. This has allowed Limbo to fly under the radar.
Limbo's team is the favorite to win it all now as the playoffs are here and now AP only has to play 1 goalie and 6 or 7 players will double and triple shift.
The 2nd string goalie may get to play a few games against CV and than he will sit the rest of the play offs. It is part of his contract that he will be humiliated in front of his peers for the chance for his Head Coach to win a glorified House League championship. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97A MHL Playoff Edition | February 1 2012, 11:08 AM |
Don't worry. We'll get back to AP once the MHL has dealt with ME appropriately.
The ME coach, BS, would freak if the MHL suspended him for a year. Then he wouldn't be able to influence his younger kids team they way he gave so much to his older delinquent. |

|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97A MHL Playoff Edition | February 1 2012, 1:18 PM |
You don't get 6 to 8 kids suspended over 4 or 5 games if you have a lot of kids that aren't part of the problem. Most kids on the team are part of the problem except for maybe 3 or 4 in total.
We will see how many players go back to this team for next season and than we will know how many smart families and parents there really are on the team. They know exactly what this team and coaching staff is all about. But as usually if most of these parents think winning is more important than , respecting other players, and being discipline and accountable than most of these loser families will return. They like and promote this crap. |

As a parent I see this as no different than the environment that has also been created in CO and AP over the past 2 seasons. Put 14 and 15 year olds in this environment with coaches who can't and will not enforce their own discipline and this is what you get. |
|

Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97A MHL Playoff Edition | February 1 2012, 1:24 PM |
This does not surprise me, and I feel sorry for those kids on this team that aren't part of the problem.
However, what have these parents done throughout the season to try and address the problem? If they are aware of suspended players on the ice have they notified the association (I know that would be fruitless) or the MHL?
When witnessing some of the challenged kids taking runs at players from the other team with an intent to injure, have they made any comments to the coach, association?
Have they shown any concern for what is going on with the team, or are they only concerned now that it may effect their own son? If not what is their real concern here? Are they trying to disassociate themsevles from a problem that they were aware of all season (or for many seasons) but did nothing about? If so they are complicit and guilty as well. |

OK February 1 2012, 1:21 PM If you are such a know it all than you can tell us how many players have been suspended or thrown out of the last 5 games for Meadowvale.
Why don't you start with the game on Monday night. |

Why does Head Coach even want to keep coaching when his own kid has no interested in playing hockey. He just wants to hit kids from behingd and start fights. He has no interest in playing the game properly. Coach is a nice guy but can't control a bunch of young players.
Coach has even admitted he can't control his players and this has been obvious for several seasons. This year he even told them to run their own practices as he had give up. Nice show of authority. Just what the kids needed. They know now that they can control the coach.

There are at least 6 or 7 bad apples so that is not a few. Based on our game with them this week the 6 or 7 bad apples are running this team now and have spoiled to bunch. We will see how many parents do the right thing and get are from the bad apples. SAd part is if you look at the team officials and the Director of Discipline their kids are in the bad apple group. So what does that tell you. |

Any parent in the league can list the 6 or 7 bad apples on ME as we have watch them get rotten for a few season.
Do you want a list of the numbers or intials?
It should not really be necessary as the kids are not completely at fault. The behavoir has been promoted by being ignored for too long. |

Teams just don't go Kaboom because they lose a playoff series.
Look at CL and LP they have keep a large core together for the past few season and haven't been that sucessful in wins. But the kids like where they are playing nd they are having fun. So even if they lose in the first round most of the kids will return.
Look at ME they went complete Kaboom after last season and they won. Parents just didn't like the situation in ME. Look at all the ME Red and 2 A players that went to Erindale because of the bad environment in ME. |

Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97A MHL Playoff Edition | February 1 2012, 3:41 PM |

ME was advertising for players but had purposely kept the roster open in order to add players in late summer. Remember they won it all last year people ?

Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97A MHL Playoff Edition | February 2 2012, 8:53 AM |
OK guys here is the deal. Our coaches knew we were in a tournament this weekend so they told the kids not to take any crap from CO in the game. The kids took it to the extreme but they knew coahes would not care if the got suspended. Even one of our Ass't didn't care if he was tosed out of the game.
Why?
Because our coaches entered us in a tournament for this weekend so all the suspensions will be sevred before the first playoff game. I would say that it great planning by our guys. We knocked the crap out of CO and it will not cost us any missed games in the playoffs. Our Discipline guy will not make the kids with multiple suspensions sit out more games. Why should he.
A Happy ME Parent |

I guess you haven'y been watching a lot of the Red and White games. There are a few crazies out there that would love the chance to impress.
AP is very lucky they found a goalie who does care how much he plays. Poor kid doesn't realize that playing a sport means participating not sitting on the bench and watching. |

We were in a similar situation at AP, funny enough. Coach was a total dick. My kid was sick one time so we left the equipment at home and he watched. During the course of the game the other goalie was injured and my son was in the stands. We played almost a period without a tender. The look on the coaches face was priceless. The guy never said another word to me and I was extremely happy to zing him. Needless to say we moved on next year. |

Suspension Period: 6 games or until substitute jersey/coaching jacket can be found thereby ignoring the rules |

Ok I will bite. Why does ME have a brutal defence?
As I can see it they have 90 GA and 424 PIM, so they take in a goal every 4.711 minutes, 3rd place in the league. CO is top at 6.304 and ER is 2nd at 4.727. AP is at 3.536. PC at 4.186. LP at 3.857 (better than AP btw).
They also have played on average 10% more of the game short handed, AP at 22%, CO at 23%, ER at 25%, PC at 23%. ME at 34% (a entire period by the way, which other team can do that? And still be 3rd at the end)
If they have less penalties you guys are toast...Cause we know they can score. |

Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97A MHL Playoff Edition | February 6 2012, 11:15 AM |
ME had many suspensions going into the weekend tournament, yet had enough to play. Given ME's history of playing suspended players this is suspicious but not surprising.
ME proably told the boys to have a free for all last week given that they could serve (read ignore) the suspensions at the weekend tournament and be good for teh first round of playoffs. Hopefully the MHL suspended the miscreants for 5 or 6 games so they will be out this week too. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97A MHL Playoff Edition | February 6 2012, 11:16 AM |
Go watch ME play after the suspensions. Suddenyl they will have 3 or 4 players playing with the same name of the back of the jersey. The story is that they are call-ups wearing previous years jerseys, but that is not the case. |

Against NYK was decent 3 post/crossbars, could of gone either way. NYK did want it more tough, it was a good game. |

Who cares, you people will have absolutely no affect on how any of these kids play except maybe your own and that’s probably a stretch. |

Could have gone either way. Your full of shit.
You lost 5 to 0 and 5 to 2 to NYK. Games were not close. NYK missed several great chances and score could have been 2 or 3 more for NYK.
Good Luck in the play offs.
Why does MHL even have PLAYOFFS? |

NYK is a decent team, three players really carry the team. I suspect when they have everyone show there are probably a few more weak links in the mix.

It is too bad one of these teams has to go out in the first round as they are both very good teams and both could beat any of the top 3 teams in a series. ER has no trouble beating AP in important games. WE knocked them out of the Silver Stick. |

Just in case you haven't noticed this is terrible hockey. The MHL is a recreation league and not even A calibre when copmpared to A hockey in Ontario.
MHL teams do terrible at tournaments against real A level teams. |

Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97A MHL Playoff Edition | February 6 2012, 1:58 PM |
Exactly lets get this right. MHL A is Houseleague hockey with contact.
But soon A level hockey will have no contact either. Could be next season. |

Checking in A level hockey...keep it or drop it? Join the debate!
January 26, 2012
In light of the concerns about brain injuries and concussions, the MHL is looking at ways to minimize this danger to our players. Statistics suggest that removing checking may reduce the risk. Therefore, it’s an option that we are debating.
The MHL would not remove checking from our A division unless it was mandated by the OHF and the GTHL. This action would put our players at increased risk when playing ‘checking approved” teams in tournaments and exhibition games.
Hockey is a physical sport and checking is a part of the game that has attracted Canadians for over a century. When performed well, checking is a skilled and exciting way to separate the puck from your opponent. Should it remain a part of the game?

What happens in the season means nothing. Too many factors like suspnsions , kids missing etc......
What ever team gets hot for a month will win this. Teams that want to play recreational hockey with a short bench and triple and double shifting have the best chance. |

If you haven't noticed there are 17 AA teams in the west alone, do you think that maybe a couple of Mississauga kids might be playing where they shouldn't.
As we all know it should be cut back by 5 teams
The MHL is adapting, next year rep teams can sign non residents.
Those Milton, Brampton, Oakville, Georgetown and Etobicoke kids have another option
Because believe me as much as you may think the MHL sucks, I'll take the MHL travel loop any day of the week. Unlike you, I am fine with my kid playing locally on a rep schedule.
20 minutes to any rink in the city ... beautiful... |

There are many kids who decided to play RED this year because of highschool and other reasons that are much better than a lot of A kids. At some point they get tired of the grind and the goonery. They move down to have fun with their friends. |

That crap of moving down to play because of school is a great excuse. If you can't handle hockey 4 times a week and high school than your kid is going to have trouble in the real world,
Their are no kids playing RED that would improve any of the A teams. Sure some could play A but they are not impact players.
Also look at all the AA players that came down to A this season. None of them are even close to the best players in the league. |

|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97A MHL Playoff Edition | February 6 2012, 2:30 PM |
give me a break.
only kids move down from AA are because they got cut. Kids at AA will try to keep move around to any AA team so they don't have to come back to A. THey will play on any of the top 14 teams just to stay in AA if they are even just average AA players.
Look at ME they have 2 players that were cut by AA teams. They are in A because they didn't want to play for Canucks or WML. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97A MHL Playoff Edition | February 6 2012, 2:35 PM |
The league sucks face it. There are maybe 10 kids in mhl league who are decent hockey players. the same can be said of AA west. and there are a few kids playing red who would improve ANY team in mhl a. |
|
