What's happening with this team. Lots of movement. Heard everyone should have a secondary plan. No one is safe?

A couple of bodies are changing, as they do every year, but for the most part the team will move forward with the guys they have. Been improving steadily past few seasons and with a few new pieces will be even stronger next year.

The issue with the Dad is two fold. He continues to over sell his kid which has including to committing to cpounltess teams, including this year. Three terms believe he is going there. Secondly his kid who runs everyone beucase that is now what he is capable of pisses people off.

Also the rumour was his kid gets hit the other game and run overs and bitcvhes at that parent. Bottom line a hit on the ice has nothing to do with a parent. Sorry don't agree with the comment but the league and the AAA loop is too small for his BS.

Team has NO one that can score, sorry but GC made a few mistakes this year with forwards, should change at least 5 and hopefully find some kids with grit and natural scoring ability otherwise this team will struggle to make playoffs next year, defence is solid and goalie situation has turned around since beginning of year and are decent, however, the offence has fallen off a cliff.

On the double committment issue, he did commit to at least 2 teams 2 years ago. The kid even shook hands with the coach, then the dad took him elsewhere. If that isn't teaching your kid the wrong things, I don't know what is. Having a disability is a tough go, but it doesn't excuse bad behaviour.

Sens don't need grit, they need skill. Team built on a similar model to the wings: big and dirty. Offense has been sacrificed. One or two kids only on a mission to hit and don't touch the puck.

They need grit, players that will go in corners and in front of net a put puck in net, they DO NOT need players that take run at kids, that is NOT grit, that is stupidity. A gritty player goes in to dirty areas and takes the cheap shots and puts puck in net or makes a good play to create the scoring chance. THAT IS WHAT SENS NEED, GRITTY PLAYERS, NOT head hunters

the team has two real good defense two or three decent forwards and one real good goaltender.

Since the christmas break this team has been struggling huge, shows lack of development and talent on team, barely beating and losing to bottom end teams during last month of league play and now 1 goal in two games in playoffs, NOT GOOD. If GC does not make some serious adjustments next year will struggle to make playoffs, 1/2 the forwrds 1/3 of defence belong in AA.

Thekid mentionned way above whose Dad over-committed is a non factor on the jr cdns. He had one good season when he came from AA, then one when he went to the Jr cdns, he's no longer an impact player.

I think GC knows where the weaknesses are.

Yes they did lose some games they shouldn't have but they did win some big games that you neglect to mention. If a great coach is about stunting development and running a boring trap system to try to hang on and tie or win games so the coach can stroke his own ego with wins and losses then he's a great coach. If its about developing talent then he's not a great coach.

Exactly. Coach is working with what hes got. You cannot get blood from a stone. He has them trapping to frustrate teams into taking risks, hoping to capitalize and score on a mistake. They aren't equipped to outshoot many opponents. The Junior Canadiens are similar. Not enough discipline to play a rigid system, so they work hard, take penalties, and hope to score on a turnover. Not rocket science.

That's great for the coach's career, but does not do much for kids' hockey development.

Perhaps the onus is on the parents to clarify the priorities when they are considering coming to a team. If you don't care about wins initially and can handle being a bottom feeder for a while while the coach makes the kids better, then you might have a leg to stand on in your criticism of the program. At the end of the day, a coach can only get so much from a kid, and the rest is systems. If your kid doesn't have it in him to be great, it's not the coaches fault.

I agree with 11:10. Doing the best with what u got and finding something that works is coaching too! He's doing just fine. If I had to make any criticism it would be that he shouldn't make them play a goon type game they can play hard and tough but they need to do it clean and disciplined they take way too many head shot penalties. They will never win if they are always in the box.

GC is a good coach. If he could only pick up a couple of scoring forwards next season he will do fine and have the team play a different system. You can only do what you can with what you have and he's doing pretty good with what he has.

Just checked, 16 goals in last 10 games which includes play to 4 teams not in play-offs. That's 1.6 per game which is not enough to win games. Where are the shooters. Rumour has it this team has some skilled kids coming in. If so will be a contender not a pretender.

Good coaches know how to coach and get the most out of a players ability.
GC is not one of those coaches.
He never assumes responsibility for the teams short comings. There's always a scape goat (one or a couple of the kids). Not to mention the little get to gether group (I'll emphasize little) that seem to run the show.

What have they really achieved teams 5-8 are 3 point difference, they finished 5th and could have finished 8th, and if the season had a few more games they probably would have finished 8th, they have been fading fast since beginning of january as seen the last two games.

You can say what you want. He is a good coach. I've seen it and heard it from a lot of people. He is a coach who has coached at MM Level before. He has done well with the kids he has this year. They are in 5th place - not too bad. Just give him a couple of skilled kids to add and you will see.

sens had 24 pts two seasons ago and were in 8th place

big improvement on Sens was in in MB, went from 37th to 22nd in MYH rankings. This year only marginal development, only moved up a couple of MYH spots to 19th

last year they had 34 pts, and 6th spot, so very marginal improvment from last year, but they way they played at end of season and playoffs, they looked a lot worse than their 5th place finish and if season was a bit longer they would have finished a lot lower, totally fading at end
