The kids took it upon themselves to have a long run and now its broken. It will all be over soon and then what are all you idiots going to do with your time then? Next two or three in line goes out next shift. There has not been a player sat for poor play this year. You can be the weakest player, be having a bad night, tell the coach to f-off, take huge long shifts and ignore the calls to come off, leave the bench in the middle of a game, and your right back out - next shift or next game! No, or very little discipline, no playing to win. Every team has some players you should play on PP, some on PK, some not on either, but with this team it’s whoever is next in line that gets to go out.

Yes, I do agree that when the bench is confused and there is an injury or penalty and they cannot simply put the next player out, that they default to 2, 4, 12, 13, 15, 18, but I would not put this down to showcasing, I’d put this down to, “I don’t know what to do??? Let’s just put out one of my favorite players.!” They have not showcased, due to lack of control on the bench, some players ( we can all see them ) do what they want. This makes it look like players getting more ice and player favoritism. Parents complain about some players getting longer shifts, it’s because the coaches do not keep track and players stay out forever.

How well would this team do if they ran the bench like other teams and not be worried about what Daddy will say or who will yell at them. You have a sick kids, injured kid, kids not playing well, kids who does not listen, kids who take long shifts, kids doing their own thing, do not pass, cannot pass, talk back, etc. DON’T PLAY THEM !

based on what I saw this season, barrie's goaltending is their weakpoint for sure

coach seems to be showing his two top guys a little too much.--the D guy rushes all the time on instruction from the bench (SKATE SKATE) and loses the puck all the time.
ajax seemed to be a better 'team' earlier in the year. goaltending has fallen off from early season as well.

We may have 10-15 shots against, but when it is a pass in the middle right on the opponents stick, you don't need many shots to score.

Our D can compete with YSE D for sure; Thats not the problem. Issue is 2 lines that cant move the puck when they need to. There D had a number of dzone giveaways that we couldnt capitalize on as well.

My pick goes to Petes over YSE (in 4). The Express just seem to lack depth, relying on 2-3 players to carry them, and though both NC and MS are still amongst the top scorers in the league, too much reliance is on NC, and MS has tailed off somewhat over the last 10 games or so. JW has been given more opportunity in recent games, and has answered somewhat, but its just won't be enough against Peterborough. The Petes have offence that can provide more consistancy throughout a series. Quinte gave them a good run, but in the end, their deep lineup prevailed. If you compare goaltenders, though AT as YSE's #1 is strong, my pick goes to BD as the more consistant tender, and their tandem has the league lead in goals against.

I also see Barrie falling to Whitby (again, in 4). Whitby has potency and depth up front, leading the entire league in goals, and a strong and tough blue line. Perhaps their only downfall may be between the pipes, but it is still better than Barries, whose tandem of tenders allowed the most goals amongst the 4 teams remaining. As well, we have to look at the history of the Colts, and wonder if the challenge that Markham gave them has set them back, as is the norm it seems, or has it made them realize what is needed to prevail, team work and consistancy. In the games that I have seen from them this season, they seem to ooze selfish play and arrogance, and that can spell disaster.

Just the way I see it of course, and I have been wrong, many many times before !

Bottom line is both series will be close and a bounce or a timely goal could turn either series in a moment around. Next series will come down to coaching and goaltending. There is give and take in all the other areas but they are equal IMO. Going to give Whitby a slight edge over Barrie and YSE over Petes.

IA came in in the third for TJS. Neither one could stop anything including our own superstars putting pucks past them. Doesnt matter how bad some kids play, they keep getting icetime while others are afterthoughts. Great coaching. Just yell at the refs all game you idiots.

If you score six goals you should win a hockey game. Barrie coaches can't make adjustments or teach something. They just run and run (with the top guys) and then take credit when it works. No plan, no structure, no system. If they happen to get to OHL cup they will get smoked. Blame the coaches for doing nothing but opening the door all year.

Obviously your kid isn't a superstar,it's AAA hockey if your boy isn't getting ice you should have played houseleague and changed at the 2 minute buzzer. In fact our coaches just roll the lines so your kid is probably getting more ice than he should.

Problem is Fab 5 getting all the ice just play when they feel like it and puppet coach's continue to give them extra ice no matter what.

This is funny, same game but people decide to see different things. You get some saying "fab 5 getting all the ice" you get others saying "you just roll the lines"? Who are the fab 5 because I don't see 5 kids getting PK, PP, double shifted, etc. I see 3 lines going out shift after shift. Take a stupid penalty, don't skate, walk off the bench, talk back to coaches, don’t pass, etc. NO PROBLEM, you get to go out on the next shift. There are absolutely no consequences for your actions on the team. The coaches could not coach there way out a of wet paper bag.
I agree with 10:11, if ( and that’s a BIG IF) Barrie somehow makes it to OHL Cup Barrie will get creamed. Look at who they put out on a 5 on 3 last night? Very poor decisions when they have a PP, they just roll lines putting some of the weakest players on the team to take 1:00, 1:30 and sometimes the entire 2 minutes of the PP times trying to get it out of their own end. All the coaches on the bench get too involved in watching the game and have no concept on how long the shifts are. Kids stay out way to long and if they do not want to come off they just ignore the coaches.
Barrie frustrates other teams because they see how poorly it’s coached, how bad the bench is run, and yet Barrie wins more then it losses. Unfortunately, the Barrie coaches do not see this, they must think they are so great! If these kids had proper development over the last 2 to 3 years this team would be unbeatable. When Barrie runs into team as good as they are or better, it’s the bench that loses the game for them.

The biggest problem with Barrie is they only have 3 AAA D, the other 3 are barely AA. With a team such as Whitby, they get walked around like they are standing still.

Your estimate of Barrie having three AAA defensemen is about three too high.

Whitby is letting in the same amount. Barrie defence was a nightmare. Whitby goaltending was very shaky.

Seems the other series is a huge contrast. Low scoring affairs. If Barrie or WhitBy goaltending doesn't clean itself up, the OMHAs could be tough.
