Re: 97AA West #2

11:56 I know it as a fact that is out for rest of season and HE IS you best forward and from what I also heard that # is out for 2-4 weeks and I would Definetly Consider him the top Defence. So who are you trying to B.S.? That said the Terriers are very deep and should do well the rest of season, but without those two it makes it somewhat harder to achieve the Championship and the rest of kids have to step up.

Top forward ...Not Top defense .....definitely Not

Score was 6-0. Terriers will be fine. Team has played short during the season. Every kid on this team contributes - they will just have to play a little smarter in the next series.

If ST wants to goon it up that's great, that plays right into MT's hand.
Their PP is incredible and will eat the Tigers up, they already had a taste of it during reg season, but they now have added a few new wrinkles since then.
Besides Terriers are as tough as any team without the goon like tactics.
Bring it on ST!

This series won't even be close MT owns ST. Last 2 reg. season games between these two were very lopsided heavily in MT's favour cant see things changing much again in these next three games. Man for man MT waaaaay better team and individual talent. Not to mention ST will be severly out coached.

MT ...4 out of the lineup, 2 call ups, and 2 players that did dress were very sick.
That's the way the game goes though, other teams have issues too, you just play.
The first period was even , then MT took over and dominated the remainder of the game ST had some chances including a almost full 2 minute 5 on 3. but failed to capitalize. In the end the Terriers are just too deep and very well coached they always have the right players on in the right situations.
ST must be frustrated to come up on the losing end against a serious depleted MT lineup.
On to game 2.

Re: 97AA West #2

I'm not really an MT parent, but this team walks on water. They dominate every period they play. Not even a full team and it's just mind boggling. Penalty kill, power play and you should see them drink water on the bench. Talk about perfection. They don't even sweat. Their listening skills in between periods is matched by no other team. Warm up accuracy is spectacular.
Bla Blah Blahhhhhhh. Same blither blather from the same parent 10:05 all year long. Give it a rest bud or mom. We all know the team is good, your childish needling makes you good team sour. If you canned it, maybe people would appreciate MT rather than wish a delightful sense of schadenfreude upon them.

Evenly matched my ass, if Terriers had their full squad dressed and with 3 out of the 4 that are out are arguably their top players this would not even be close. Even at that ST is barely hanging on,MT still dominated much of the play with basically the same 8-10 players playing most of the 3rd,shots in the 3rd were at least 15 to 4 in favor of MT.ST goalie made the saves when it counted most in the 3rd MT goalie didn't. MT should have two of the four back tomorrow and the third for game 4.Will be a different result than last night when they return for games 3 and 4, that's assured.

Yes, dominated with half the regular roster, 4 out and 2 call ups.
Doesn't say much for ST based on that.A loss and a lucky 3-2 win on a game where the shots were 35-10 in MT favor, granted your goalie played well and deserved the outcome.
That will change however, everyone back Wed. except 1.
MT will win tonight, their at Erin Mills, home ice for a change and that does not bode well for the visiting teams. They then will finish it off on Wed. with everyone back in the lineup except 1 player. ST it was good while it lasted but your luck and good fortune has now run out.

Losers?
You can call the Terriers a lot of things, but losers? I think not,and their track record over the years have proven that. I'm an outsider from another team who was at the game last night. There is not a hope ST wins this series, they may of won last night but I think their luck has now run dry.
If you want talk losers just look at the way their players and coach act, that was so embarrassing how the kid that got tossed acted, and that comes from the coach down. No respect for the game and at the end of the day no respect for yourself.
All I know is we tied them (MT) this year and I know the next time we played them we got whacked and manhandled by them. ST beware.

the way the Terriers celebrate goals going down the bench is so fucking rediculous it shows thet=y have no class at all.

And for a power house team they sure had their troubles last night and were klucku=y Tigers didn't get the 2 to 0 lead.

What is up with the Terires goalie. Is that their #1 kid. He should were swim trunks in the net as he was really lost and flopping around a lot and lucky was able to kick the net off when he got in trouble.

March 6 2012, 10:11 AM

Troubles???
5-1 I don't see any troubles with that score.
If so ,I'll take troubles any day.
MT had 2 kids return from a couple of weeks off and were just getting their legs under them.
To bad for ST , MT's top D man and most the most physical on the team returns tomorrow.
As for the MT goalie, he could have swim trunks ,snorkel and fins and go swimming in the ocean, at the end of the day you only scored 1 goal, sorry and MT scored 5, maybe your goalie should get fitted with a pair of trunks.
Tomorrow full squad returns for MT except one, to bad ST,you had your chance and didn't capitalize.
Let's be realistic here ,man for man your not even in the same league as MT when they have 90% of there roster.
ST is the most undisciplined team in the league and that was evident again last night again, another player having a meltdown.
Once again that comes from the coach and trickles down to the players. Two "abuse of an official " calls in back to back nights.
ST coach clear your calendar you are going to be called onto the carpet with GTHL brass that's for certain very soon.
I'll take MT celebrations and style of play any day over the ST shit show, oh by the way MT had to celebrate 5 times last night how many times did you celebrate last night ST?? I guess I would get upset too if I had see the celebrations 5 times in a row.
This series ends tomorrow

Come on now - play nice.

It has been an exciting series, and ST has definately challenged MT. The score last night definately not indicitive of the game. MT got it together in the 3rd period and capitalized on some mistakes by ST.

Hopefully game 4 will be just as exciting.

Good luck to both teams.

Face it, ST lucky MT was down a few players at beginning of series, they were missing top 2 d men and top scorer of team and probably whole league, otherwise this would have been a clean sweep.

Re: 97AA West #2

March 6 2012, 11:56 AM

I honestly I'm not with either team but here are my thoughts. MT definitely has more talent but only in a very few players. Talent doesn't always guarantee a win but it usually comes through in close games. After MT top 2 or 3 players the teams are very equal.

There are no players on either team that will be impact players on top 6 teams in AAA.

Remember MT best all round player came back to MT from AAA where he was not really noticable.

I think MT is a better team but honestly any team , not just MT, that celebrates by going down the bench is not necessary for every goal. It does show a lack of class. I wish all coaches would teach the players to celebrate with respect and only make a big deal out of very important goals, not every goal.

I had also heard that MT goalie was considering going AAA last season not sure what his plans are for next season, but really he is just a average goalie that real looks lost in the net and he is not techincal sound. He was very very shaky last night and your right ST did not take adc=vantage of it. Could easily have been 3 to 0 for ST at end of first but it wasn't than MT got rolling by scoring with 15 seconds left in the 2nd period to make it 2 to 1. Than shorthanded goal was the back breaker.

Re: 97AA West #2

March 6 2012, 12:10 PM

Do you know how many times MT had to suppress any celebrations this year, way way too many to count based on the many blowouts they had this year. There were times you didn't even know they scored. That was then and this is now, were in playoffs against a rival with deep history.
My thoughts, celebrate away, you know damn well ST will do it, that is if they score another goal in the series.
As for the goalie he must be doing something right, only had 1 goal scored on him, I'll take that any day in the playoffs. You can stop with the "what if this" or "what if that" bottom line is ST lost 5-1 and you can spin it any way you want. When MT has there full roster no one can touch them.
This series is over.

MT are a good team but they are not head and shoulders above any of the other top teams so the parents can stop stroking their egos.

Do you not realize this in minor hockey for a bunch of 14 year old kids that in 4 years will not be playing organized hockey anymore.

unless you consider the ASHL as organized hockey.

So why do parents feel this strong need to live through their kids accomplishments?

it is really sad to see how many parents have lost perspective of the whole situation.

the nice thing is the kids realize it is only hockey and they love playing and competeing with and against their friends and they do not over emphasize the importance of everything. That is why so many kids can just say I'm done and move on.

The Terriers are head and shoulders above everybody else in the G; everyone knows that they are also a top AA team in the province, have been for a while now. That is what makes this Terrier generation one of the best ever. Parents realizing that their children are impact AA players. Too bad some of them are off to AAA, they will not be impact players at that level. The team goes deep. Last nights game proved it. The key to last night was the coach rolled the lines. Does not do it often enough, but when he does, better things happen. Goals came from all lines. Good job coach. Keep'em a rolling!!

Yes my friend, this generation. They have been a top AA team for quite some time. That is what they are....AA . I as a parent accept that. I am loving AA and the entire Terrier organization, Can't compare it to anything else, but not even interested in wanting too, blue to the bone brother. It is what it is and I am enjoying the ride; and have been for many years. More importantly, my son realizes that. He enjoys hockey, but he also enjoys soccer, fishing, hunting, playing high school sports...... That is the difference between you and I, I accept it and you are the delisional one. ST vs MT good series all games pretty close, much better than sharks who only scored 1 goal in 4 games. 2 players missing for ST last game were non impact players, Terries were missing 2-4 players for first 3 games as well, Big Terrier goalie won all 3 games. Next up the Huskies and that should be another good series. Good Luck to both teams!

Re: 97AA West #2

I'm betting on the underdogs in this series. Although the Terriers may have more offensive punch, I believe the Huskies have better goaltending. In general with the way the series have played out, the Huskies have adjusted their game depending on their competition.
The Terriers on the other hand have sailed through the regular season and the playoffs pretty much uncontested. They've struggled when key players have been out of the line up or suspended. If they stay healthy and suspension free, it's going to be a 6 to 7 game series.

Good luck and have fun guys!

Huskies goaltending is weak. coughs up too many bad rebounds, and let two weak goals in last night. goalie is too soft and too small. MT goalie is far better.

Terriers hear this every year, that their time is up.
They heard this at the start of the year, the middle of the year, the end of the year and now playoffs.
We heard from ST that they would crush MT and guess what they couldn't even beat them with half of MT's roster out. So don't tell me HH is now going to beat MT 4 games in an 8 point series with MT's full roster back and healthy. The worse thing that could of happened to HH is going the limit in this past series when you needed only 1 point a week ago that certainly worked in MT's favor. MT is not the Vaughan Rangers.Speed and skill separate these 2 teams, one has it, the other doesn't.As for the goal tending saw a few games between VR and HH and goal tending on both teams I found to be not very good at all.

Whoever came out of the HH/VR series would be ready for the terriers, MT has not had to face adversity, pressure.HH look ready for a long playoff series, they are not in the West finals because they are weak team, not an easy task to knock off VR.Mt just keep posting,HH will use it to fuel there momentum, and i'm sure they have the entire GTHL West division supporting them, they have mine.

Watched a few HH/VR games,if the finals is anything like it then it will be for some entertaining hockey.

MT 54-4-6
And of all those games, they did not ever NOT have the lead in at least 50 of the 64 games played. If MT plays the way they can, no one will touch them.
Lost 4 games all year, does anyone in their right mind think they are going to lose 4 games in the span of a week, don't think so.

VR - HH series difference was goaltending VR goaltending was extremely shaky, HH was as well just not as bad. If VR had any type of playoff goaltending they would be moving on. HH' goalies weren't that much better just better enough to squeeze by in the series. MT will light up the HH goalies will not be able to with stand the offensive sustained pressure.

In both meetings this year most of MT goals where PP goals.

HH had lead going into the 3rd period lost 4-3

Players looking for next years team? What gives? Thought they would have walked through the playoffs especially with VR out of playoffs, their only real competition.
