Oakville and STA put on quite a show, ended up in a 1-1 tie, great job from both sides and fabulous hockey. Every scout in the house came out after this game quite impress with the talent on the ice. Hopefully these two teams can meet again in the OMHA.

Good game for sure. STA has more talent overall, but Oakville has a couple of tough kids that could hit and even out the game.

I would modify your comment a little, STA has 1 maybe 2 much more talented players than Oakville but other than that both teams are fairly equal talent wise. Overall Oakville strenght is their defence and agressive forechecking, for STA it's their offence. Was amazed at how difficult STA found it to get out of their own zone.

I agree with your comments. My point was that you need to play STA physical otherwise they will walk all over you. If it weren't for the bigger physical kids on Oakville, it could have been a very different game.

Actually not only their bigger kids where physical but the bulk of the Oakville kids played big. Not to take anything away from their bigger boys such as 74, 72, 63, which all played a strong physical game; their smaller kids (under feet)such as 97, 93, 7, 48, 10, 52, 4, (and sorry if I am missing a few others) also threw their weight around. It was a great game to watch and both team came out of the game with a well earned tie, or deserving of a win. Hopefully we will see other great games today, as their are also other good teams in the SCTA all battling to play Sunday and a spot in the OMHAs and ultimately OHL Cup. Proud of this league...

Not talking about the guys in the first round but how would the players from the G thought to go in later 2nd round or third round look playing in the scta? Probably not as strong , the scouts are smart enough to know talent nd the limitations some players have because of the team they are on.

Scouts also know that "top" players on SCTA are 3rd liners or can't play at all in the G

Good weekend of hockey - several teams impressed several under performed. Halton had to be the most disappointed with their weekend.

Oakville is decent at best. southern tier is on another level.. they played like shit this past weekend. their top guys under preformed and oakville is lucky to get the tie. good on em though. scta is the weakest league by far. no denying it. if possible im sure they would only chose southern tier for ohl cup but they cant... as for no scta guys in the top 4 rounds i might have to agree.. maybe 4 kids off STA and that big ass motha fucka off Guelph. not that hes good or anything hes just ranked high.

i was there for that game.. oakville did bring their game to another level but at the same time southern tier wasnt playing their best hockey.. the big kid on southern tier was no where to be found along with some of their other stronger players. oakville deserved it though and i hope they can continue their strong play in the omhas.
