97A Clarkson

Have been approached by this coach but have heard that he interviews and puts down the players for his own shortcomings. Is this a good place to avoid? Tells me they will be top team next year.

This is a typical perpetual bottom feeder. Does poorly each season than loses it best players and can't atrract new players that are good so it stays at the bottom.

At least 6 or 7 are leaving this team.

Only players this team will get next season are from CL Red team.

Best player for years? You must have heard that from his Dad, others would call him the biggest problem for years.

Dad doesn't like this kid being corrected on anything, so he wants to pick up his ball and go home.

That is true, but overall there is an obvious stronger goalie and one that is weaker. Weaker one has the skill, but is less aggressive and lacks focus at times.

Re: 97A Clarkson

March 27 2012, 11:17 AM

Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the season, I wonder if your kid did or does his opinion matter?

My boy learned alot this year, much more than from last year's coaching staff. True the new coach had tougher rules, but my boy felt that he was treated consistently from the start of the year to the end (ie the rules were consistent and all of the staff followed the same rules), it can
be terrible when the kids get different messages and direction from different coaches on the bench (happened to us a few years ago).

Perhaps your kid had a different experience, if so then I could understand your frustration. I believe that all of the kids got benched for a few shifts at some point in the season for not following the rules, if yours was benched more often then perhaps he didn't follow the rules as much as he should have? All I'm saying is that the communication was there and expectations were made clear to my son. If you didn't like the approach then that is a personal difference but no need to come on here and making up stories, accept the difference and move on or apply for the position yourself if you could do better.

At the end of the season, we made it farther in the playoffs than we ever have. We have a lot of good memories from this year and my son is looking forward to returning next year, which is more than I can say from previous years. If you are moving on, then good luck to you and your boy, enjoy it while you can.

CL improved from prior year and as year went on. Will only get better as red kids get more experience. The kid or two going up to AA is a big mistake. There are no kids on that team ready for AA except on bad AA teams which is twice the price of A and same quality of hockey.

It is because he doesn't understand hockey and he can't coach so that is a bad combination.

You should see his practices he just brings in different instructors to run the practices. If you never played or understand the game than you can't teach it. It is very comical and sad towatch an CL practice.

So coach he blames the kids for his short comings.

Stay away from this team.

AP is the exact same situation.

Two coaches that love to blame and yell at the kids.

AA you should stay off this site or better yet join AA. Most of the kids on this team ended up hating you and wont be back. Having one on one interviews with kids at this age and level is ridiculous. Then you have the nerve to put most of them down and blame them for the teams poor showing. Team had a weak showing because it had no talent and a moronic coach.

Every other team in this loop would be a better option than another year with an ass like you. Houseleague would be a better option.

My son got grief from our coach this year, and for the most part he earned it and dealt with it fine. Obviously others didn't have as good as a time. At least this year we got some points in the post season, which was never done before.

My son will probably play somewhere else next year, but only because he wants to play with his friends which is typical at this age. He may not make those other teams, if not we'll be back with CL.

There were some real nutbar parents on this team this year and I suspect that they are the ones behind this negativity. Referring to MP as a better coach is laughable, unless you want a puppet coach and your problems this year was because the new guy had expectations. I just wish the idiot behind these stupid posts would stop as anyone from this team looking to move on will be viewed as a troublemaker now.

There are only a few that would be able to reference MP, so it can only be 2 or 3 families here. Adding the bullshit about the best coaches being in the stands narrows it down to the 2 families with dads in the stands that were on the bench last year. I will miss neither of them.

Re: 97A Clarkson

April 7 2012, 11:03 AM

right! provide good insight on a team with you vultures hovering.

Here ya go idiots
Based on my interaction with families /parents and coaches of this team.

Lots of chatter the start of the year as usual
Lots of players supposedly going to the team... happens with every team
Reality no AA or big A players came
Coach puts "his" best combinations together trying to get as much as possible out of the kids and the team
Reality begins to set in, no talent.
Close in many games but not winning the close ones
Frustration

Christmas is around the corner and still not where coach would like to be

Time to pull out the "meeting with the kids agenda"
Not a bad idea at all, coach is trying to motivate somehow

Team comes back from the break very little change.

Reality again no skill on the team but then of course let me quantify
There are about 3 kids on the team that work their ass off every game and
eventually the loses will affect them, it has too

So here we are at tryout time again. Same coach

Volunteered his time and effort all season. I bet there wasn't one of you that said THANKS.

Who needs this shit from you pieces of shit that have never played at a rep level, never coached at a rep level and for that have no concept of team play.
You shits constantly chirp at the refs.from the stands for calls that you don't even comprehend because YOU NEVER played the game and slam coaches on this site for what... volunteering their time .

IF YOU CAN DO BETTER SIGN UP

Where is the weak CL from last year going?

If he shows up at our skate we're going to bail!

Why would he want to go to CL? But then again a goalie is probably better off being on a weak team where he will get a ton of action then being on a strong team and facing few shots.

If he is a good AA goalie he would still be in AA.

One CL goalie going to CO to be the new bench warmer while the other kid plays 90% of the games.

Other CL goalie not coming back

That may be the case but some kids who could play AA do choose to drop down to A at this age. School, money, friends all play a role in where kids play at this age.

If the goalie you guys are talking about happens to be the same one that was at the "b-day" skate recently, then I know who you are talking about. I was there and saw him. CL would be very lucky to get this kid. He was very good. Can't really see him playing on this team though. Curious to see if he will be at tryouts tonight.

OK than that means nothing. You can't tell if a kid is a good goalie at a Birthdaty skate.

Good AA goalies don't tend to go to a last place A teams. Even to play with friends

Hey, I don't totally disagree with you. All I'm saying is that the kid look good. Who knows, maybe the kid was just out for some fun and that is the end of it. Time will tell. There is so much bull going on this time of year you never know who to believe or trust. One thing is for sure and that is we will have a better idea after tryouts.

Do not be fooled by letters AAA AA A means nothing. Watch kids play. Many AA coming down are house league level players.

Your interview was a train wreck. You are barely lucid and might be mildly delusional. I prescribe a rubber room and liquid proof bloomers for you until you can string together a rational sentence.

Not sure why. They had lots of kids a tryouts. My son was there and was cut. Can't believe they think kids are not good enough to play on this team and then they think they are going to get better players wuith the horrible record and reputation this coach has.

Maybe he should try coacxh something he knows a little about. Because he knows nothing about hockey.
