Might be the weakest MM team in years. Thoughts?

Yeah, so what else is new? Wrong player choices year after year starting in minor atom. You can't develop crappy tiny players with ass-kiss daddies. Half the time the coach has been total moron with the IQ of a toe-nail clipping.

Re: 97 AAA Waterloo Wolves MM

April 16 2012, 7:40 AM

this past year with the 96AAA team was a joke, parents were a bunch of pricks, it was a huge wake up call and allot of parents couldn't handle it....

Kids were not focused in the summer, doing other shit like skate boarding and getting into accidents, allot of golfing, trips, holidays, parties, allot of kids were just happy to make the team, no effort during the summer to be ready.

Then come season SD played his guys that were ready and shit hit the fan with allot of parents.

My advice to the 97AAA team, train all summer, sacrifice yourself and be ready.

Someone is always blaming the system for not picking their kid, "the right kids", bull, that's the cry of every sad little parent whose kid wasn't good enough to make the team. Your a bunch of parents with no hockey knowledge and you all think your little jimmy is a hero. But the coaches are the ones trained to pick talent and they don't look at your kid through rose coloured glasses. Sad really how few parents can honestly evaluate their own children.

If our 96 mothers would have stayed out of the rink for the last 3 years this team would have been better off.

They made coaching this team hell....

Re: 97 AAA Waterloo Wolves MM

April 16 2012, 5:30 PM

I will second that, in recent years the 96 coachs were scared of the mothers, had last year coach canned a couple times because little Johnny was sworn at, stop letting your son be a pussy and let him be a man and grow up....

SD was a great coach, just a few mistakes and nothing major, wrong choices on our F1's, wrong choices letting injured players come back and take spots.
This years MM team lacked allot of heart and work ethic....
it was really too bad b/c this team could have been more successful if EVERYONE played like a team....

good luck to the 97 AAA MM team, you will be very happy with your coaching staff!!!!

hey 825 - to answer your question 3 kids were drafted, could have been more

EH had a miserable accident that prevented him from having a good year, if his focus was on hockey and not girls and boarding witht he wrong group of friends he would have been drafted

MS - had too many injuries

JM - should have been drafted, didn't show well in playoffs.

I watched this team all year, i think they were missing character, and team chemistry on and off the ice, same old guys habging together, same guys sitting at home.

Big congrats to SL, KW and BL

AA Parent....

The biggest problem with this team is they have all the talent to go all the way, but they have a hard time playing as a team, there are some who think they are above others. Little do they know they are only hurting themselves, get over yourself , play as a team and advance to the finals and you will get a better look , but they won't because they are told from home they are better than their team mates, stop worrying about who get's the goal's and start worring about how to win.

We all know the 96 team had a couple of "special parents"

Who will be the 97 replacements?

Who will be the dad to complain all year about picking the wrong F1 players.
Who will be the one to hang around the dressing room all the time.
Who will tell the coaches who he wants his son to play with.
Who will collect all of the stray pucks at practice.
Who will....

Re: 97 AAA Waterloo Wolves MM

April 26 2012, 9:19 AM

whoever thought JM (97)was ever going to be drafted needs a reality check... He was out of contention very very early, when play offs hit he wasn't even a consideration. Just doesn't have what it takes to play at a higher level.

97 kids that have a chance and will be watched closely are...
your one goalie
and the Pedersen kid
these are two players that will have interest early, they will bring the scouts to the game and the rest of the cast.... be ready and you will be seen.

Any parent that feels that kids who show interest in other activities is an indication of lack of focus and dedication, shows a one dimensional mentality that isn't healthy.

Just like a job, managers like to see an interest outside and away from the rink. Good luck 97's I will be watching at a rink near you.
Word of advise: Sucking up won't get your kid drafted.
Can't wait to hear the parent backlash on this post

Agreed. Our 97's may be a team but too many parents/players putting personal gain ahead of team. Besides, it doesn't help that more than half the team don't live in Waterloo. Hard to have a tight knit bunch especially with the boys when everyone is just breezing in and out of practices games etc. because they have a lengthy drive ahead of them.

This team could go either way this season. They have always competed with the top teams. Pretty could for a pond hockey squad. They never have had a decent coach to show them how to play in all zones of the ice. I could see them in the top 10 if they have a decent coach.

Answers to  anonymity:  to attack certain people and not face repercussions for their actions.

Opportunity to converse with oneself in order to feel validated (falsely)

to invent a persona that reflects how they wish they could be (strong instead of weak, potent instead of impotent, etc).

What might be other reasons? Why the need for complete anonymity?

No hiding my name you need not respond to me by time of day. My name is not an email it's Yvonne the y is pronounced with a long E sound last name McLeod like cloud. No need to hide. Simply pointing out that slamming behind an alias is cowardly, pointing out that a team is weak only and mostly bc of goaltending indicates to me that you may have never played a high level of sport to comment on an intelligent level, or the need to use a platform such as this to reference players by initials and again behind a curtain, then you leave me to assume you are a coward. If you believe what you say, say it with confidence and intellect, lashing out in such covertness is just weak. You should be building your players and families up, not tearing them down with your hiding behind the screen. Say what you mean, mean what you say and if there is nothing of value to offer zip your lips. Just my opinion...isn't that the point of the blog? Or is "nuts" the best you've got? I'm not surprised. Peace out my blog time is over. This is boring.
