Committing to teams

Have parents learned yet by Midget age about the importance of keeping their word and honouring their committments?
Can't believe that some would say "yes" 2 weeks ago and then not show up at tryouts!

It doesn't matter in MM, its all over after this year anyway. Do what you've gotta do for your kids sake.

It's about time parents took control, because the coach would de-commit in a flash if someone better came along. That's why, this year many parents have committed to a couple of teams.

....and the cycle continues.

This is the best excuse I have heard to justify being a coward. Coaches do it, so I can too. From the juvenile book of tit for tat.

You remain a dolt.

Sorry coach, if I do not like what I see tonight, I am going to my other option, so pick a kid from the tryout to take my "committed" spot.

You know what you are getting into by now. Commit and honour that committment.
Don't expect the TRW to all of a sudden turn into the Marlies!

This is the MM year not Atom so no integrity. Who cares if I de-commit. I do not care after this year. It's all about the draft and to get on the best possible team in order to be noticed, not to go on some low end team and not get noticed, because scouts do not go to bottom teams.

11:04am

You clearly know nothing about the OHL draft. OHL teams draft players, not teams.

The second highest drafted d-man, Jacob Middleton played on a dogshit team from Huron Perth.

I repeat, what goes around comes around.

if your going elsewhere just tell the coach in February you are looking elsewhere. You won't hurt his feelings!

But telling everyone you will be back and then not showing up...I am quite sure some kid expecting yours to return may very well be hurt because of it!

What about the coach that cuts the kid during the summer when the kid is clearly not focused playing hockey.

There is no honour in MM. Everyone looking out for themselves.
