All the other teams are picked.
It's stupid that Halton starts tryouts this late.

12:36, that's the problem with kids now a days. They don't know their priorities. The fact the coach thought he didn't need to be here is unheard of. Great example to show the players about commitment. That's all you need to see to know the direction the team is going.

When they were al1 together back in Novice and Atom they won nothing. Got into the OMHA's once and walked away with nothing.

Why would anything change? They will be a little over .500 and that's it. They won't see any Sundays on any tournaments. Two kids may get drafted.

The coaches will take all the credit for those players getting drafted.

No one from the G has signed, have they. Forcing folks to play for a team that they don't want to can never work. Sorry about your luck. Try building a solid organization from the ground up and people might WANT to play for you. Starts with the Halton brass.

The 7 Milton kids they let go are all decent players. The 3 in Guelph will help the team, the 2 Milton kids that were let go the other night should have been given a shot at game play.

The 2 left are both long shots to make the team.

Good luck to the 5 boys left skating with AAA teams.

Just for the recored the 3 kids you say got cut and went to guelph they actually asked for a release to go to Guelph they never wanted to play for Halton... As you know you have to have a release from your own AAA center to try out for another AAA center. So they had no choice but to skate for Halton to go to Guelph to try out...good luck to all the 5 skaters still skating for AAA from Milton.

According to another thread, STA beat NF 9-2 the other night; isn't that how a game between prospective "top" team & a prospective "bottom" team should go? I guess this means HH & GS will be fighting tooth & nail for that SCTA 2-3 spot come season's end!

I can't believe the dream is already over. It's still APril and already the promised dream team has crumbled. If this group was (as promised ad naseum) at the top end of the SCTA, you would have arranged an exhibition game against a top team.

I knew you were nowhere near as good as all teh hype, but I must say, this is worse than i expected.

TG and KK were both better then a few players that were signed.

Maybe if they had walked in with a AAA coat on they might have had a shot.

Coaches didn't do any homework on any returning players.

This group is not as good as they were years ago

Still a few solid players but the bottom end returning players are just not that good!

I know all the returning parents are not happy at all!!!

The Coach is away at Del Boca Vista during tryouts.

The Asst Coach is signing players while the "Head Caoch" is on vacation at tryouts!

This team will be the same as the previous 4 years when the season starts.

Full of import cast offs.

It was the wrong move to put these two young guys in chrage at the Min. Midget age group.

Team was picked months ago, tryouts were a formality, so why should a coach blow a vacation he purchased a long time ago. No point. He did what was right considering the team was already established.
Piss off and leave him and the team alone.

Re: 97 Halton

You are wrong!

There were still spots available at tryouts.

Not everyone showed up and the Asst Coach started offering spots.

These guys have never had to deal with an entire team that wants out.

95 all wanted to stay
96 most wanted to stay
97 all want out

What ever your view is on the 97 parent group this is a different dynamic that the young coaches have yet to deal with.

This team will look different to start the season.

This whole situation is an accident or can we say suicide waiting to happen. We have got to get out while we can. For thos who are stuck keep fighting, it's in your kids best interest. The executive should be embarrassed to hand over a team with such an important year to two guys that will never get the respect from young athletes. CR is NOT that good! He was better when he left 3 seasons ago. Not sure what AAA team would even want him. Guess coach told him the better goalie will play 80% and RR was smart enough to figure out who that was.

Agreed with previous post about MM. Not a great team player at all. Cried like a baby when he played bad. Kid quit a few times in the middle of a game. Fact remains though,he's twice the goalie CR is.

Breaking rules? Oh please tell us the rules Halton broke. I'm not a big Halton supporter at all, nor am I a fan of first year coaches at Minor Midget. But breaking rules should be looked at the GTHL first!

These so called breaking rules will not be the problem for this team. These coaches will be the problem. You can't have 2 year olds running a team. The parents will chew them up and spit them out.

I have been down this road. Unless the organization gives in no one is going anywhere. No free will? No kidding. You can try some sort of slippery "we are moving" deal but more than likely the OMHA terms it a "hockey move". Better off to save yourself the aggravation and start playing. Team should be pretty decent and catch the eye of scouts, which is really all anybody cares about next year.

You guys are all full of shit!....I'm tired of hearing nothing but bullshit made up by people's theories of what they think they know. The truth is as follows...

1. Appeal made for AR was made by The Rebels org not the individual or the family.
2. The appeal is on the claim that HH tampered with AR (and AR only). No other person, child, player is implicated on that appeal.
3. No other player will become "a free agent" as a result of the Rebels appeal.
4. AR has not received a release or F1 waiver contrary to what several have implied to date. The hearing has not been scheduled nor will it be a pressing issue to do so in a timely fashion.
5. The twins have indeed signed their cards.
6. Contrary to everyone's beliefs that MM has "something up his sleeve" and will be playing for TM in the G this year...think again. The player will be playing HH hockey or simply play for the Hill. Those are his only options.
7....and lastly.....when the dust settles...this team will have all its HH parts playing for HH with a few G players added. It will be a good team to boot.

You don't want to be on the edge of your seat at Tim Horton's. Those seats are made of plastic and can be a little slippery, you might fall off, just like this year...

if your not on the team ..why do you care...the people who have signed have signed for their own reasons...so by default you are pissed because you weren't asked to join or are holding some kind of a grudge......I can think of no other reason why a human who has control of their senses would continue to write on the thread...........you have expressed that the coaches are young, inexperienced, full of shit.etc.....thanks for your view....done...spend time with your kids, enjoy life...move on.

2 choices - either stay and accept the coaches as they are and shutup or leave and since it shouldn't matter to you anymore - shutup; choice is yours but either way please STFU

Re: 97 Halton

June 4 2012, 5:20 PM

F U to think people posting here either were cut and wanted to come here. That I can tell you is neither.

So the comments about Tim Horton's do agree you are who you are, question is whether you can coach and that will be determined during the regualr season in the coming months. The issue many have is Halton is the one of two organizations who hold players hostage, the other being Burlington. The reason an inferior program. If the program was good the players that went to other OMHA and GTHL teams would not have left for so many years. Now you have forced them to stay becuase the program could not succeed otherwise. Parents left and piad more elsewhere beucase of the programs. They are back now becuase of the chalenge to get out of Halton. No one is happy here.

This year will blow up in time.

No way they will succeed for 2 reasons: 1) if even one single kid is forced to play in Halton against their will will poison team chemistry, and 2) inexperienced coaching. Mark my words.

Re: 97 Halton

June 6 2012, 8:02 AM

take it easy dude... kids just want to play, its the parents who go crazy when they are told what they can and cant do.. the high drama never materializes... there is a good amount of talent on this team and good goaltending so they will make some noise and get noticed... these coaches had the '95s two years and had 9 kids drafted... take a breath and enjoy your summer

Re: 97 Halton

They helped with the team they weren't the coach. Big differrence. And the players on that team weren't forced to play there. This year due to Halton Assoc. and coaches expect drama all year long. But keep in mind other than Oakville rest of teams would be bottom four in GTHL.

If the drama is just brought here by you then who cares. There won't be any real drama at the rinks. So spew your venom all you want on this forum. This is imaginary land. nobody cares about any injustices on this forum.

bottom four in G? Who cares? Teams don't get drafted...players do....When this team shows well against your top G teams and the almightly Oakville, the individuals that are draft bound will do even better....mission accomplished happy.gif

Re: 97 Halton

Considering the Buffalo may now be the powerhouse of the loop, bringing guys in from across the usa, with Brampton adding some key pieces to a solid core, with STA loading up (a real challenger to Buffalo and OR) with Hamilton adding some good new pieces and upgrading in net it doesn't look like HH has done enough to crack the top.

They were already solid, added a couple of solid core pieces and the best pure scorer in 97 age group anywhere in the proving, less CMD who is now in the O. That's what makes them so much better this year. Along with maybe the best coaching in the loop and well, figure it out.

How is it working with HH waiting for the final call on the G players that they are trying to force back to Halton? Have they committed to extra kids and then will decommit once all rulings are final?

Please go ahead and ask if AR is signed with Halton. If you are told 'yes', there goes any and all credibility from the coaches out the door. He has not signed. High level investigation still under way. If this was a done deal, he would have signed by now.
