Erindale returned several AA players. I think they got cut from AA as I could not see any huge improvement. Slightly stronger team on overall depth.

The AA kids that came back to play in the MHL were all just avarage A players. That is why they are back in A. So don't get too excited about these new players.

I think the super star AA goalie story was a selling feature the ME coach used as part of his annual Bullshit story to the parents. That is what he told us at the rink.

It will be interesting to see if it was Bullshit or if he did pick up 2 AA goalies.

His lack of Credibility is being tested again.

His parents were smart when they gave him the initials BS because he is one fantastic Bullshiter.

And if the kid answer Yes he was immediately referred to ME or AP.

They have abuse of players perfected on those teams.

Those Coaches actually encourage abuse and harrassment of teammates and opposition players.

This whole age group is HL. One of the weakest age groups in the MHL. Teams can't compete outside of the MHL. At least in the other age groups the MHL teams do fairly well against other teams from the G etc.

Re: 97A MHL Tryouts

April 27 2012, 1:52 PM

How many times a year have we seen this rule not be enforced because coaches are not aware of it. It happens slot with players faking injuries, opposing player gets ejected and the injured player is on the ice the next shift.

SECTION 10 PLAYING RULES
10.7 When, in the opinion of a Game Official, a player other than the goaltender is injured due to an infraction of the rules by an opponent and the offending player is assessed a Major penalty plus a Game Misconduct penalty or, alternatively, a Match penalty for deliberate injury for the infraction, the injured player shall retire to his players' bench or dressing room when the penalty/penalties are assessed and must remain out of the game for the next five minutes of playing time. If the injured player returns to the ice before the five minutes have elapsed, he shall be considered an ineligible player. If the presence of an ineligible player is brought to the attention of the Game Official prior to resumption of play following the first stoppage of play after the five minute restriction has expired, the offending team shall be assessed a Bench Minor for 'Ineligible Player'. Additionally, any goal scored by the offending team while the ineligible player is illegally on the ice shall not be allowed.

CL was just being more selective. CL is only signing HL Red or White players and Blue players that at least played 1 season for the AA Canucks.

CV signed mostly Green and Blue players. New CV coach is a clown. He is telling the kids he played in the NHL.

Are you sure he left.

I saw the tryout LP on Saturday and they just picked up a bunch of football players. Lots of suspensions and bad attitudes will be coming with these dudes. Wonder how long before other players reealize this kids don't really give a shit about hockey.

Re: 97A MHL Tryouts

May 4 2012, 10:46 AM

When will parents realize these kids are 15 now and are playing hockey purely for fun. Some will quit at the end of next season and some may play a couple more season.

None of them care if the win or lose the MHL Championship. It will not change their life or future one small bit. So parents grow up.

My son has friends on 5 of the other teams and when they are together they spend very little time talking about their own hockey teams and who wins or loses. Sure there maybe a little fun ribbing and funny trash talking before games but that is it. It just friendly stuff.

Never once have a heard a kid say we won the championship and we are great so now my hovckey life is complete.

Only a small group of parents really care who wins.

Kids just love competing and that is it. When the game or season is over they quickly move on to the next thing which is what they should be doing.

Parents should watch the kids and learn by their example

CO goalie stayed and they added 2 real good AA forwards. They are much improved and will fight with Erindale for top spot. No one will score against this team and they will now get 3 goals a game this year. Coach did well.
LP kept their centre kid and added the LP AA football team. All of these kids are short tempered. Knowing most of them from younger years or in AA past few years they will have major suspension problems. This team and ME will get ugly next season. watch and wait for fights.

CO Coach did not do well. He did nothing. He was lucky to pick up a few avarge players because they wanted to play with their friends. No one can recruit kids at this age at the a level.

CO will live and die with they goalie again this season. Kids at MM will be more incline the run the goalie through the net just for fun.
Kids will only play for your team if they are coming to play with friends. Most if these kids are losing the desire to play hockey.

Lp #1

CV #3
ER #4
PC #5
The rest r shit. And lp just signed a new goalie. And the AA players coming down to play for lp r simply there to try to kill kids. So expect lp to physically beat up every team they play. Also they have 3 scoring forwards such as the AA player from the tigers ,doug breen and cam relph. Overall lP will now lose many games this season

LP will probably surprise as they looked really big and really fast compared to my kid. trying to avoid negative speak of any team or player:

at this age and level a coach's primary focus has to be making it fun for the kids and parents to come to the rink and hang out together and so turnout is key to success. the coach that accomplishes that will have to be considered the best coach as you won't likely be teaching this group a whole lot and trying to coach anything that isnt geared to A hockey is a waste of time and money and effort

ME should be 1st overall as they scored the big D from AA that combined with other the other two AA gamers they already had will make them a really tough team to play
PC will take 2nd depending on how some of their kids respond to a tougher time with more balance among the skill and size improved teams such as LP and ME; they could also challenge for 1st or could slip to 3rd or 4th if they dont do well in the close games
LP 3rd with their overhaul as they apparently upgraded size and skill and got a legit scorer from AA and could challenge for 1st or 2nd or could also finish 4th or 5th
ER gained other good A players and some kids that tried AA but didnt add game changers
CO tough to repeat last year's results but are a great bunch and could finish as high as 1st if good form found early
AP will win more vs CV and CL but will be in tough against ME, PC, LP, ER and CO
CL could be a long year but like CO if the kids come together look out
CV has some potential late bloomers and you really only need to win in playoffs, the season is long so they easily have the most potential

my boy plays CO and it's only May but from what I saw at tryouts and heard from others its shaping up to be a great year for rumours, chatter and SMACK among the boys as at least 4 teams should have a shot at #1, there will be fights and other crap normal to boys turning 15 and 16 but all of the boys and families know each other and lots of the kids attend school together and know each other through their buddies

enjoy your boy's last year of puck!!!

Kid will get a ton of action and lots of shots. Better fit for a goalie than being on a top team getting no action. Probably why he went there.

What are the initials on the Eagles AA goalie that went to CL.

Poor kid having to play in that terrible environment. Could have made any GTHL A team he wanted to.

And playing for any other MHL A team is better choice. They are all glorified house league teams and every team seems to have coaching issues so if your kid plays in this loop they are no better off. I know the family and the kid. They are good people. He will help them win some games just as the CO goalie did last year. At this age and this level it is nothing more than having fun.

9:18. You seem to know the kid well. Where he played, the coaches initials etc. Leads me to believe that you must be a friend of the family, but then why would you put them down or you are stalking the kid. Or maybe he said no to play for your team when asked. At least that was one good choice they made.

This kid made a bad choice in teams unlesss of course he was looking to get 30 to 40 shots every game. If that is the case he made a good choice because goalies don't have to listen to this Asshole coach at CL.

Hopefully the goalie will not have to be interviewed.

25 % might get lucky with an out of town surprise or that select kid that missed tryouts and is okay.
Another 25 % will have no choice and will pick up that kid that is hanging in the wings

The remainder will sit tight and go with 13 skaters ( 15 players )and see what happens come Oct.

Of course as we know all of these teams will be below 500

BUT the kid is small and got bounced around pretty good last year.

He has been AAA for the last 3 yrs. he will be a rock star at red and will be playing with his school buds. good family quality kid and he knows he ain't going to the show.

Kids dropping down levels due to size is normal. Some kids do grow late in life and move back. I know a couple more kids playing house to focus on school hockey and grades this year who could easily play AA or even low level triple as the bottom half of AAA teams are brutal. Agree with poster above let kids play with their friends. They will all end up in beer leagues soon.

if your kid is smart he doesn't need to drop down levels to do well in school.

Play at the level he should. Smart and focused kids to better in school no matter where they play.

Dropping down to focus oin school is a bullshit line parents like to use when their kid is shit.

If your kid is blaming hockey for his poor marks or if you think that is why he is doing poorly in school you are fucked up and he is going to struggle in the real world. If you can't find the time to devote maybe 20 hours a week to a sport and still do well in school than the kid is a poor student.

In the real world it is all about milti-tasking and managing your time to do well at several things if you want to suceed.

So stop with the excuses

150 spoken like someone who does not know much. Maybe your kid is perfect great player great student who can manage everything. From experience most of these good players can't handle the late nights at rinks where you get home after 11, workouts 6 or 7 days a week, high performances required from coaches every game or sit and then a couple of hours of homework/study every day to get good grades. I think I can count on both my hands the kids who are like your kid perfect.

You have no facts so shut the fuck up

I know of 5 kids that went back to Red this season and none were for school reasons.

All 5 were because they could make the Rep team they wanted to play for.

Red Houseleague is worse than shinny. At least Shinny is usually for an hour.

HL Red is a 30 minute game and 1 practice a week. Might as well not play hockey.

No one said the A teams were awesome but at leaset the kids can say they are playing some hockey for more than 1.5 hours a week like in HL.

It has nothing to do with the calibre of the hockey so don't get all upset.

We al;l know that you believe 50% of the players in HL Red are AAA players.
