There were quite a few out for the last 2 skates. The AA program seems to on the right track. There is a European tourney scheduled for just after Christmas. I'm sure some will find fault with this.

Unlikely that 9:25/4:42 is someone from tryouts. By coincidence his comment is one of the favourite words of somone's parent who didn't come out.

From what I've seen so far, Coach is very organized, ran good drills in the tryouts, and is open to communication from the parents. Add the fact that he will have a solid core of forwards + defencemen and a pair of reliable goalies has made for a positive atmosphere.

Kid(s) can play in Milton as long as one parent resides in Milton full-time. Many Milton kids have parents not living together and are able to have kid(s) play in MMHA. This is legit as long as one parent is full-time resident.

Are the parents or parent of the oakville player be residing in Milton by the start of the season? If so, no issue.

Confused by all this - didn't the coach's kid play in G for the last year because of an Oakville address. How is he allowed back when nothing has changed - he never lived in Oakville, neither of his parents were in Oakville and he never went to school in Oakville. Please all knowings tell us how that works.

If a player does not register in Milton, can they play elsewhere? The rules need to be clear, and adhered to. I saw the tryout, players lloked good. I don't envy the coach and the decision

If your kid wants to play, you will find a way to get him or her on a team, somewhere or somehow. You cannot fault a parent(s) for doing whatever it takes to keep his kid in hockey as per the kids wishes to play.

920 your are 100% correct. The efforts of MR and others have helped secure the Midget AA program for this year. The type of comments above are disgusting in relation to personal matters. The Midget Coach in place based on what I have seen has done a very good job. Goalie evaluations this past weekend with the few goalies that were able to attend went well with some new 95's coming out to help with the drills and possibly skate this weekend in hopes of playing this coming season.

Yeah but just remember, Coach was using all the players who came to the tryouts for this series in order to whittle down his numbers, so that should be easier now. Plus there were some no-shows because of other commitments - they'll be back in the fall.

I think they were missing at least 3-4 of their decent players because of non-hockey related injuries and because of high school sports conflicts, not because they weren't committed to the team.

I think you may still need some help from your OMHA Gold Champ 97's?

Team looks weak. Even with 3-4 more good players, they can only do so much on their own. Lots of players out that really shouldn't be there. Hope there are lots of cuts made.

Kids that showed up gave solid effort. 2 or 3 very good forwards and coaches kid was most reliable D for tournament.

The other guy on the bench over the weekend was a non parent helping LM with pciking the goalies. My son (not a goalie) said he was a good guy, did a lot of coaching with all the players, not just the goalies. He took a puck in the face during the Friday afternoon game and was back for the 2nd game on Friday. Milton needs more guys like that coaching in my opinion. Someone not there for politics or to better his own kid.

Has anybody considered that LM may walk part way through the season. The way his kid played this weekend he may get scouted part way through year for AAA. He will definitely shore up the defense this season.

Apparently LM making the calls shortly for the minimum 13 players required by OMHA (12 skaters + 1 goalie), and then waiting until August to pick up the other goalie plus maximum 5 more skaters (and hoping some of those 5 are upper-end players who are not committed anywhere right now). If this is not correct, it would be a good idea for LM to send out a communication to set things straight

It will just open up the coach and MMHA to new attacks as I am certain someone out there wont like the response provided. I think the best way this can be handled is for the coach to contact all the families involved in the tryouts indicating what his plans are

I check occasionally to see if I can inject some opinion if it starts to come off the rails. Why the rush in signing anyone ? The Midget division will not be settled until Tri County meeting in Sept. I think by keeping all the players involved, particpating in some summer tournaments, a few more practice times is a fantastic idea. As the tournament showed last weekend we needed a roster of 20 - 22 players just to ice a team because of the players commitments to work, school etc. I believe if LM is willing to foot the bill then we should all be thankful for the extra ice time. just my thoughts and if I'm wrong i'm sure I will hear about it.

Whoever you are stop pretending to be MR. No way he could possibly think that 17 yr old boys want to play hockey all summer with the hope of making the team. I thought it was hard enough to get a committment from the players without being strung along, LM will be lucky if any hang around long enough to be signed.

I hear some of you parents complaining however haven't heard a sound from the players just some enthusiasm even as they were losing last weekend. So perhaps the older "kids" could take a lesson from the younger adults.

and a quick PS - nobody said anything about all summer just a couple of ice times and perhaps another tournament - don't think that is a huge commitment to make

It is a big commitment to make if you get let go at end of summer to play houseleague as it will be to late to make an AE team.

who said anything about an AE team ? I put out Coaching Apps for the position however there were only 25 skaters that came out for AA tryouts. Not sure where the rest of them are but nobody contacted me to say they were not available so if 17 skaters stay with the AA team that leaves 8 for an AE team. doesn't look like its happening to me.

In midget you don't have to try out for AA to play AE. Like last year turnout will be larger.

Major Midget will have 2 AE Teams MR, just one of them will play in a diferent & tougher division!

funny thing, I sat in with the ice scheduler and set up ice for next season and I know all that is allotted is a timeslot for AA games and practices. Not sure where this other mythical team is going to play, however if everyone pulled together and worked with me instead of just carrying on like they rule the world then perhaps we could offer up an AE team.

If this is really you MR. Start the process for AE. More kids waiting in the wings for tryout. The whole goal is to keep kids playing. Interest is there as you had a successful AE and Select program last year. Select coach did well and is well liked. Can't remember his name.

LM has been ill this past week, so there's the main reason for the delay. Another ice scheduled for Sunday and I imagine the 13 player roster will be set then as LM wants to have some one-on-one talks with each boy.

Okay, that is a funny line, but the main thing is - should that parent's kid be on the team? If he's good enough then that extra stuff is just gossip comedy; if he's not but still put on the team, then it will not be a pleasant experience for several people (mainly the player).

AE should have enough kids to get a team. You will have the kids cut from AA Tryouts, plus the kids who didn't tryout for AA who wanted to play AE to begin with, plus the woodwork kids who will appear. Possibly some 95's who want to play for the Coach. No pomises though!

Country Club Kids are exempt from this. They still believe they run MMH. Should be enough kids that WANT to play. Didn't hear JK was stepping down the the rumours abound.
