The 97 gold team has continued this year with the well known smokescreen for the coaching & team selection. It doesn't matter who the "coach" is on paper or who shows as "selected" to the team on paper. The mastermind behind this team, and the word "team" is used loosely, has always been one little guy, fixing his way for his kid to the end. A few of the players who can enable his kid have been carried along, but fully deserve to be on the team. Anyone who sees this differently, you're kidding yourself and you & your kid are living one big deceitful dream.

It's the price for havin a good coach all those years. One spot on a team is not a lot to ask fo all the hours of volunteering. Esp. when that kid will end up drafted.

I heard today that the Middlesex Centre Township (Komoka Arena) is going to raise the cost of all ice for all LJK programs and it would effect all ice times after June 1st. This could seriously affect all levels of LJK as the ice in Komoka is/was so much cheaper.

If the only price for having this coach was having his undeserving son on the team, I could live with it.

Parents like really...get a grip!!!!! We all know what DW is about and no JW shouldn't be where he is, but eh, he is, it's a done deal and has been for the last 6 years. What about TG, he's only there because of his dad too, I have never seen a D get lit up so bad and make so many errors and nothing said to him, and BH who has no idea what a corner looks like...great size but no talent, didn't even get an invite to an OHL camp so his parent get him an agent, money wasted there and the kids that are there because one is only allowed to play if the other is picked, LJK is all politics, and maybe some parents should stop trying to live their dream through their boys....move along nothing will ever change with LJK. Some of those boys should be there, but most of them should not!!!

In almost every LJK age/level of hockey in the younger ages atom-peewee most teams get selected based on talent. And many have had plenty of success such as #1 AAA and #1 & #2 in AA, but for whatever screwed up reason a third of each team after peewee end up being $$/favour picks. The most likely cause is on going politicing of parents and/or coaches.

If you made a FC allstar Tournament team in October to practice 1 weekend/month and enter a couple AA or lower AAA Tournaments you be surprised what you'd find. FC Tournament Teams from Bantam---->Midget would most likely beat every LJK AA offering and maybe even a few Green or Gold teams also.

What would this tell you ? That the LJK has ALWAYS wrongly cut players for $$/favour picks.

If you look at last years Bandit 96 team that won the Alliance AA League, AA Playoffs, multiple A Tournaments(yes they were an A team) and nearly won the North American Silverstick .......... 3/4 of that team had twice the talent than over half the of either AAA team.

Naysayers state that the AAA speed is faster and the AAA shots are harder ...... but guesswhat the AAA Green team would never have dared play that Bandits 96 team in an exhibition series. Scaredy Cats is what they are and afraid of exposing their corrupt team selections.

Well if I was coaching and a player walked out on his team mates and had a lot of nasty talk to say about others and ranted and raved on the golf course in the summer telling kids there getting cut and stuff, NO he wouldn't be playing on my team. The only thing that has saved this team has been its defence. I am 100 % certain the defence will not be as good since the rest of the league has gotten better.
The gold will be a solid third place team in their division for 2013.
Gold goalies have always left juicy rebounds which will be mopped up by opponents and netted.

There are enough scouts within the Knights organization that despise DW that if your kid is being pushed by him they may vote the opposite.
