I hope the SC Panthers go all the way! What other teams out there can say they have 2 BTB champonships!. Parents have to realize that over the years kids change and not all are going to the OHL OR NHL... Many parents miss out on the fun of just watching the kids play hockey because of the parents desire for fame! This is the draft year folks....I hope you all have some constigency plans for yourselves (parents) when your kid doesn't get drafted. Hopefully your kids are more realistic and are ok with their future......

wouldn't say you got our best player but our smartest player and someone who can score and also willing to distribute the puck. Knew he would leave since BV wants HV close to where RV will be playing and he told me that much a long time ago. Small but smart and Dad will have him drafted but not as high as brother due to size !! still a big loss for our OHL Cup aspirations !

SC vs WINDSOR

October 21 2012, 1:07 AM

Lets be realistic here. Windsor picked up some size but lost brains. Coach forgot to see if the kids knew what to do with the puck. CR quits team no big loss his face was always stuck to the ice anyways. The other CR has attitude issue if he's not the star all the time. Everyone is catching up and its much harder for him this year. He's going to need a sports psychologist to keep his head on straight. Kid has speed to burn but thats it! MS to scared to play OHL. Smart kid but cant handle the physical end.DR good defense but dumb decisions with the puck. Good shot skates better then most defense OK hands. DR and CR will be the only draft picks if some team wants to take a chance and draft a couple of project kids. TM and TM jr are just going to be disappointed come draft time. That boy is petrified out there. MB good addition to the team but to small just like the other new guy AF. Smart guys great hands but thats not enough. The new big guys like JD TC give me a break. Cant skate, short fuse, no head for the game and wouldn't know what to do with the puck if it was in their pockets. Give it a rest JD you are an OK AA player and thats it. If any OHL team gives you a look its for one reason and thats fighting so I hope your good at it!
All the rest of the team are just OK AAA players going nowhere fast. I wish all of our boys the very best come draft time but that is the reality of it all.
As far as the SC side of things NB BM are going to get drafted. TR CG have slight chances. BP has no chance anymore the work ethic isn't there. KC no chance unless Grampa pulls some strings but hay what ever it takes maybe the OHL can teach that kid to skate. Lets see what happens come draft time then you can all reply to this post and say how did he know all this so soon!

"No excuses - just the facts. If Windsor had won last night, SC would be spouting off their 'excuses' no doubt. If SC was missing 3f and 1d and Windsor had won, I would hope Windsor would have enough class not to brag about the win or throw it in SC's face. Just sayin."

Regardless of who he's playing, he has the top save percentage in the league, ahead of every other goalie playing Alliance AAA. He's not making his saves against houseleague players.

GOOD GOALIES GOOD TEAM IN FRONT

November 16 2012, 1:10 AM

CT is doing really well this year, like the other poster said he's not playing house league players no matter what team he's playing. He has been a AAA goalie for a long time now and is finaly started to fill the net so common sence says he should be better then he was before especialy since he held his own before when he was smaller. Don't get me wrong he's no monster but its got to be a little easier for him being 3 or 4 inches bigger now. CL needs to work on mental end of things, he gets down on himself if the other team score earlie or bad goal on him. Last year in the highschool tourny he got lit up. Its way harder to be a good goalie with no team in front of you. Both SC goalies are solid and will be looked at hard come the draft but neither will see any real playing time until 17 or maybe 18 years old just wait and see.

1:10 a,m. - great post
I don't see anything on this thread slamming either of the SC goalies. They are both good goaltenders. However CT hasn't received too much credit over the years and the way he is playing this season he deserves a few attaboys. We'll let the coach decide what games he plays, it will be up to him to stop the puck whenever he's put in net. So far so good, hope he continues with his strong play.

Your team has shut everyone one up with the way you came back from the Kitchener beating, I mean the Sarnia tie and the CK 3 0 blow out win. I'll be shocked this week if you are haven't moved up to 40th in my hocke rankings. So yes you have shamed and showed SC up we can't show our faces Booo Hooo.

AAA teams shouldn't shuffle coaches in and out every season (as Windsor 97 does) but there should be some turnover after 2 or 3 seasons just to keep things fresh and expose the kids to different coaching styles/philosophies.
Scene has gone stale in SC land, coach overstayed his relevance. Too bad for the kids since this is such a big year for them.

So the excuses are beginning now. The demise is expected this weekend in Waterloo and we're ready to blame it on 2 forwards being out with injuries.
Is the depth of this team really that shallow?

Coach has had the team too long. Tuned out. Playing no where near potential all season.

Epic failure by this coach.

Geez, wish my kid had been coached by this guy the last several years. Two championships and a finals. Good "epical" memories he would have had!

Same thing happens with AAA Minor Midget teams each year.
The team comes second in a players draft year. They start playing for them self.
No way a Coach can control that.
But what happens more often then not is a Coach will want to flog who he thinks will be going to the O so he can pad his own resume.
Not saying it happened here but for sure it happened in couple teams in same Div.

seems to be a common theam with coaches trying to pad their own stats, hopefully the kids that are working hard will get seen and not just the ones the coach is riding on their jersey tails to get noticed.

Coach is too head strong . Plays his favourite guy way too much . Instead of bringing in AP players why doesn't he use 12 up front and rely on some of his other defence . Not a smart hockey guy .Kid was a forward all his life and can score. Compensate for your injuries . Series can be over pretty fast .

Thats crazy. A defenceman playing forward. That would be as nuts as a forward playing defence.

Your right . Why use a kid who has probably scored 150 goals in the Alliace as a forward . Just nuts .

Wow your a real problem solver . Kid is such a good hockey player , he can play anywhere . That's why he's there as a D . The forwards are banged up so why not utilize his experience.

A kid with that kind of offensive talent must have a ton of goals on D as well right?

Really the success of any team relies on the individual points. A team is merely the point getters! Increase their ice time until you get the desired amount of points and you win. Simple as that.

I don't know about that. Look at the real work horses. Kid gets knocked down in game with serious shoulder injury and has the strength to get up. Probably play next week. Now thats a gamer.

Both injured young men are character players. Any team missing two key players that are leaders on and off the ice would feel it. Pulling for SC to prevail.

Bwahahahahahahahaha!

Only 1 point against Waterloo in 4 games! Pitiful, embarassing, not a good way to finish your draft year.

Coach's fault here.

He'll blame his 2 injured forwards being out but there's talent all around the county that could have been tapped as AP guys to help out, or if he was smart they should have been added to the team in tryouts.

In spite of the unexpected loss and the complete domination in play by Waterloo in the series, it was nice to see CT step up - especially in place of the injured CL - and play so well.

Great season CT! You deserve the perseverance award. Unsung hero!!

The teams in the east are just stronger than the west. With kitchener's eventual win, three teams in the east advance to the semi's. Sorry west just not as strong as in years past.

Really sad to see the chirping on this tread for SC 97 group... Was a solid team for 3-4 years and just couldnt get it done in their drat year.. The things that made them a strong team in prior seasons ( Size, and there forecheck) other teams in this age group caught up to them. Kids will remember those past championship for years ..

Surprised how quickly Arlene posted the scoring summary on the SC website. SC blew 2-0 and 3-1 leads.
Wonder what lead to all the penalties in the 3rd period. I see that Windsor scored 3 power play goals in a 30 second span beginning with 4 1/2 minutes remaining in the 3rd period.
