Power House - more than a few scared boys, mixed in with two/ three puck hogs and a goalie that uses the crossbar as a chin up bar - look out Alliance - look out

You cut kids because of the parents - I thought cuts were made on talent of the child - I guess you must be one of the elite parents within the team and your boys talent didn't matter - he made it because your a good parent- that's so sweet

Re: 97AAA Cambridge

"Good parent" in Cambridge stands for someone who sticks their balls up their ass in order to not speak up so pigs can make their behind the scenes deals. Their are plenty of those in this age group and why their heads get so fat and they start to look like porky pig by the time their kids hit midget.

So true 10:56

Disgraceful !!!!!!!!

It has to be written into the constitution of CMHA , "that we never develop a player nor allow them to move up to the AAA ranks in our centre........................ we do allow cast offs from other centres thou "

Either one of those goalies are good enough to get the chance to play on this team The only thing in the way is the other kids daddy, who happens to be our head coach, we are jokes among the Alliance.

Embarrassing

Re: 97AAA Cambridge

It doesn't take stones to move. It takes a loose wire. Moving for one year of hockey is the most fucked up thing I've ever heard. Maybe, MAYBE, if it meant the difference between "making it" or not, but shake those bobble heads, these kids aren't going anywhere. And two of the boys (twins) could have stayed right where they were and both made the team. Paranoia, the destroyer.

I don't think anybody backs up another goalie in Minor Midget. It's every man for himself.

But if you've got $30-40k to burn, you go right ahead. I could have come up with a few other bright ideas (education comes to mind, although this might be the best lesson ever taught to their kids). These two families must be loaded.

Facts; Whitby has 5 levels of Rep in all age groups
Your kid gets cut from this so your pissed you go to CYO to stick it to Whitby.
Fact CYO has 2 levels of Rep..I mean Lower Level...I mean Bottom of the barrel hockey..House league hockey.
Okay Rob you can come on here and preach all you want...can you tell parents or at least post your refund policy like whitby does.
Can you guarantte that Ref`s will actually show up and that they will get paid...oh that`s right you don`t tell parents when they register that they have to dig even deeper in there pockets to pay for ref`s.
how much dough you taking out of the coffers...
The only reason CYO is around is because there is a sucker born every 1 min in Whitby.

Re: 97AAA Cambridge

June 4 2012, 2:22 PM

we have 3 teams in Bantam local league that could beat some of these a/e teams. The top 3 teams have at least 5 travel calibre kids on them due to the Tilbury Chatham merger. BR also has a top team that has some travel players

All 3 teams also have travel players due to the 5 minor rule, they won't be playing travel till next year as majors so for now they play local league. Full checking and these 3 top teams are amazing.

I say BR or Chatham should win Bluewater, judging by the quality of kids in local league. If all 15 players on the BR and Kent a/e team are better then these kids look out everybody else.

The Ajax team coaches/most players and parents are an ambarrassment to their Association, the OMHA and to hockey.
For their actions vs Kingston the majority should be removed from the game for the intirety of the season.

Definition of a Kick Shot; Page 12, Hockey Canada Case/Rule book

The action of placing the blade behind the puck and then propelling the puck by kicking the stick.

If you say what happened is true, then it doesn't sound like a kick shot occured and a penalty should not have been called.

However, if a goal was scored in this scenario, the goal would be disallowed under Rule 10.7b which states - No goal can be scored when an attacking player kicks an object which, in turn, propels the puck directly or indirectly into the gosl -Page 137 -New Rule.

Re: 97AAA Cambridge

June 12 2012, 10:10 AM

The whole league knows our how bad we are ...................from another post

Elgin- 3 or 4 player team...then they are just like everyone else.

Sun County- 3 player team and lost one of their top players to Windsor...then they are just like everyone else.

Gold- some different picks this season but seem to fold like a cheap tent in the playoffs and will probably do the same again this season.

Chatham- will be the bottom of the West division as this team is full of others cast offs, just terrible turnover especially for the most important season, obviously the past cancers of this team have lead to this seasons death of the team.

Windsor- picked up a top player from SC and have improved this season and will somewhat compete.

Lambton- this team has been totally revamped, new coaches, new forwards, new defence and change in goaltending. After watching the Kings win the cup last night, I'm going to pick the Sting as the sleeper team for this upcoming season.

Huron Perth- lost a couple of key players and will make the fight for top spot alot closer this season

Waterloo- will be right their again fighting the lakers for the top spot in the east

Kitchener- will also be right their fighting the wolves and lakers for the top spot. With these three teams. Anyone one of them could win the east and too pick one would nearly be impossible and nothing short of a coin toss!!!

Green- all kinds of drama on this team already and the summer hasn't even started yet. With a slew of F1's picked over london kids and with a bunch of A/AA kids as players this team will find it hard to win games this season. Not the team they were last season.

Cambridge- coach is also the goalies dad will certainly not help this team. There is plenty of better goalies in the Chatham system that have more skill and size. Goaltending can win you games and championships, the association has dropped the ball huge with this all important season. This team will remain near the basement again.

Brantford- this team just can't get better, with hamilton being weak and cambridge being weak also who are they really going to draw players from???? Even some of the A/AA teams around them are weak as well. Playing this team this year will be like shooting fish in a barrell....too easy.

Hamilton- with the amount of players and kids in this area...not to mention also having another AAA program in the city one would think they should be able to field a better team. This has got to be one of the worst and most undeveloped programs in the alliance.

As a parent of a 97AAA goalie from another OMHA centre I just wanted to sincerely say I feel sorry for any goalie who would sign to play with the coach's son. We all know how this will work out as far as # of starts and start selection is concerened. Although there is shit in every association we seem to be able to keep father coaches off the bench for the minor midget season. We have all seen it in the past, including myself, and a when coach is a father for MM the season becomes only about one thing and that is helping his own kid. Best wishes to your team ! ETA parent

how tall are they? At this level they need to be at least 5'8 and that is on the short side. Most are hovering the 6' mark or over.

The vast majority of goalies drafted on the weekend were between 6'2 and 6'4. Thats huge.

Major midget in the falls is trying to put together a great team of players from all over the place. Few players actually from the falls remain. Team not successful in past however from what I hear they are trying to appeal to players from all over the place to make a competitive team.

They passed on a couple 6 foot goalies, that are better than the 2 goalies we have. We have one goalie at 5'3 on skates and one that is afraid of the puck. Saw BW working out on the ice last week still growing, looks like he has passed the 6' mark strong in the net and handles the puck better than our D men. Why we keep passing him over amazes me. Shame on CMHA for screwing this kid year after year.

Ummmm...BW is far from 6'. But you're right. He should make the team, but, he can't make it through a tryout to save his life. If he can't handle tryouts, he's probably of little value in the big games. No thanks.

Big is nice, but you still have to be able to play the game and in these cases big isn't helping enough.

BW should have left CMHA years ago if getting drafted was his dream because a fair shake in this association was never in the cards.

Depends who you talk to and when. Nobody has anything nice to say behind your back. Its AAA hockey. Put my kid in hockey cuz he loves the game, I love the game. The bonus was to learn other life skills, but this wasn't what we had in mind. U Bastard parents are brutal. Can't trust a single one of the bunch. Some of you make me laugh on this site, but keep the kids out of it. Attack coaches and organisations other parents but layoff my kid, he's gonna be a good person, regardless of hockey
