Don't pay admission to these rip off money making tourneys.
Crappy rinks like Doublerinks.
Go in the back door
or
bring a bunch of coloured markers and find out what colour the hand stamp is and
copy a smudge on your hand to make it look the same.
Quite a nerve to charge admission even for siblings.
Don't we all pay enough for tourneys. Gas, lodging food etc.... |

i am very surprised that the parents of the 97 age group are still buying into the spring hockey.
the top teams and top players have all stayed away from spring hockey at 97 age group.
Just wanna be's thinking the that there are scouts watching their kids.
the last thing these kids needs are MORE games!
Skill and strength. Not more games.
CASH grab

Bravo. Great post.
Hey dummy, my kid is playing this weekend - because he LIKES it. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97 Ronald McDonald Tourney | May 31 2012, 9:17 PM |
Perhaps kids with a passion for playing the game are lacing them up this weekend. Kids with overbearing parents are at home lifting weights and being miserable |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97 Ronald McDonald Tourney | May 31 2012, 9:45 PM |
Kids with a passion for hockety are smart and taking some time off to play other sports and enjoy life. Those that focus on hockey 12 months of the year burn out first and quit at the first signs of disappointment.
I can't belive all the low life trailer park parents at these spring tournament that think their kid is the next super star. |

Didn't get asked again. Sucks to be you |

Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97 Ronald McDonald Tourney | May 31 2012, 10:45 PM |
Actual my third son is currently in AAA and did get asked by two spring teams but was smart enough to say no and focus on other things in the off season.
WE have learned are lesson. Our first son who is know in his second season in the OHL did the Spring Team stuff for a few years and with hind site and experience we realize it was a wste of time and just bullshit. Did not help his development at all. Once we gave up the Spring Teams he improved greatly and had more desire to play during the real hockey season.
But do what you want to satisfy your ego. |

Spring hockey is for and only for parents who push the shit out of their child so they can talk..my kid plays AAA .WOOPDE fuckingdoo. You will never learn.Maybe you should listen to some of the posts above. |

Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97 Ronald McDonald Tourney | June 1 2012, 9:49 AM |
The minor midget year Spring tournaments is watered down. it's not AAA, it's AA/A. The kids who really love the game and are the top players are training for next year. Those that are playing are wannabe's and the parents that spend the money on these tournaments are just plain stupid. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97 Ronald McDonald Tourney | June 1 2012, 9:51 AM |
Where are the real AAAs training? |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97 Ronald McDonald Tourney | June 1 2012, 11:59 AM |
In gyms and on the ice with trainers duh!!!!! |

agreed.
these kids have been playing AAA for 7 years.
they dont need more games.
risk of injury is up
cash in tournament organizers pockets is up!!!
spend the time getting fit and working on skills.
PArents figure it out already!! |

Why are you on here preaching fool? You should be out working on your kid's skills |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97 Ronald McDonald Tourney | June 1 2012, 7:59 PM |
Yes, the most important skill will be learning how to say "you want fries with that?" |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97 Ronald McDonald Tourney | June 1 2012, 9:37 PM |
they level of competitivness is still there and that is never a bad thing |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97 Ronald McDonald Tourney | June 2 2012, 9:13 AM |
You people, in gym with a trainer yes you are right, 3 years ago, most of these kids have only played one tournament this summer, this one so what does that make difference.
good competition out there, your upset because your kid didn't get asked, or you just decided to work with your trainer all weekend. |

Seen most of top players this weekend, don't know what you are talking about. All top kids from ETA, SCTA, Ottawa area only a couple from Alliance and G missing. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97 Ronald McDonald Tourney | June 3 2012, 12:22 AM |
Very good teams out there especially in the MM. Some of the best players playing in the finals on sunday. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97 Ronald McDonald Tourney | June 3 2012, 12:30 AM |
You must not know who the top AAA kids are. Because none of them are in this tournament. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97 Ronald McDonald Tourney | June 3 2012, 6:54 AM |
How would you know if it was good competition, and if you knew why would you waste your time at a tournament that your son is not playing in, I know I got better things to do on a weekend.
GET A LIFE!!!!!
A lot a great players out there been a great tournament, quit cutting kids down. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97 Ronald McDonald Tourney | June 3 2012, 8:46 AM |
It's just some guy who didn't bring his kid out so,of course, there's nobody any good there. Typical myopic, no-nothing N54 poster |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97 Ronald McDonald Tourney | June 3 2012, 8:49 AM |
Top teams? Best AAA players? As compared to what?
Perhaps compared to other team entries, BUT NO top players or AAA teams are in this alleged tourny. Give it a rest wannbe daddies (and mommies) your kid, if playing in this, does not make him an AAA player. He filled a spot in the cash grab. End o story! |

June 3 2012, 9:48 AM = Uninformed idiot.
Someone made the perfect statement...if the 'top-players' were there his kid would be catching frogs in the swamp in back of his trailer. |

|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97 Ronald McDonald Tourney | June 3 2012, 8:23 PM |
Do you not think there is to much risk of injury for any kid with potential draft ability in these spring tournaments. See it every year. Teams that are weaker or all ready elliminated hacking, slashing, hitting from behind and the organizers and refs do little to curve it. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97 Ronald McDonald Tourney | June 3 2012, 8:29 PM |
Well I have to be one of them I have a policy with them. |

Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97 Ronald McDonald Tourney | June 4 2012, 6:40 AM |
I want to thank all the top end kids that didn't signup for this tournament so my kid could play.
He is now considered a top end kid, thank you
next week back to playing in the creek and catching frogs.
I know it was raining all weekend but don't you think a good book or a movie would be better then posting on this site.
also if you would like to join us at the annual Spring Frog Catch Tournament this weekend it is being held at a creek near you only top end kids invited, warning you may slip on a rock so wear all your protective gear.
Kids had fun all weekend so relax all played well.

Winning these tournaments and summer leagues mean absolutely nothing. The REAL games begin in September. Look at Nats, they won Carnevale last year and finished 8th.

6:40 you sound like a complete ass! So what if your kid didn't play, so what if mine did! Why do you care! Why does it bother you so much. What may be good for some isn't good for others! WHO CARES! |

Anonymous (no login) | Re: 97 Ronald McDonald Tourney | June 4 2012, 11:39 AM |
Kids who are serious about MM are training hard right now, not playing in meaningless tournaments. Last year's Rebels and Marlies teams had over 90% of their kids drafted. All of those boys did some serious training in the off season and did not waste their time with spring hockey. |
