All Toronto sportscasters are paid mouthpieces...July 24 2012 at 10:45 AM | Anonymous (no login) |
| Too afraid to say anything contrary to the brand bible that MLSE / Rogers / Bell all have on their stable of teams.
Not one word about these cheapskate companies who lie about wanting to win but don't fork out the dough.
These sportscasters sit and clam up when it comes to telling the truth about this pathetic sports city...they even have the balls to call themselves "journalists".
Why such a low payroll for Jays? Why not spend the max on the cap Leafs? Raptors have a GM who has his boots licked by the media for having a team that's a joke. Toronto FC are the laughing stocks of the league...
Spend money on more than just signs. Don't make excuses and point fingers at the occasional low budget team that get's into the first round of playoffs...money buys championships. It worked in New York, it worked in Miami and it worked in Los Angeles.

Gord Stellick the ultimate kiss ass and look where it got him, fired and still sucking up. He is condescending, immature and always waned to talk about Borschevskys goal against Detroit. |

Stellick is a fucking moron. I find it hard he even has a job in this city. |

OP, nice general statement as a title and could your little rant be more full of lies??; shows what a low intelligence level you have. Some of the Toronto Sportscasters are good at their job, some are not quite as "polished". One thing is for certain, they are all better than you. Do yourself a favour, turn your tv to the W Network, your radio to CHAY and cancel your subscriptions to the Star and Sun and pick up Chatelaine instead. |

The papers recently pointed out that board composition was changing post closing of deal.
Both CEO's from Bell/Rogers to occupy board spot, with 1 more I think.
Total board number will be 6.
Bell/Rogers have agreed to vote in tandem to avoid any stand-offs. |

The morning show clowns are terrible but they do line up very well with the winning organizations that we have in this city. Another beef I have is why does Colangelo get off so easy all the time? He has been a complete disaster, worse than Bulldog Burke but is under no scrutiny whatsoever. Is it possible that we don't give a shit about basketball?
The only hope we have is with Antopolous and he better do something soon or he will also end up on the shit list.
What the f is wrong with this place? |

Interesting...we hear no one, and I mean no one in the media, complaining that the Jays were 2 games or so out of a wild card spot and the Rogers group wouldn't spend a dime on new talent or move on a trade and pay more. Even at the start of the season when Darfish was available they didn't blow the guy out of the water with a big offer.
Rogers you are fucking cheap and don't want to win.
But your message is quite different...all your good little mouthpieces line up like ducks to chant your mantra...
"We're designed to win next year, not this year."
Want a bunch of bullshit... |

It's not Toronto that players are afraid of, they don't want to play for Burke and Carlyle. Total gong show. Brady and Lange show take over! Asshole Brady knows everything. Easy fix for that puck suck. |

Hey fucktard they just signed one of the top power hitters in the league to a new contract, traded for pitching from Houston. Injuries have decimated them. You are a half wit moron who knows nothing. They tried hard to win the "Darfish" (Nice spelling moron) but they lost out in a sealed bid auction.
Go stick to your hapless Leafs and STFU LOSER. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: All Toronto sportscasters are paid mouthpieces... | July 29 2012, 12:29 PM |
Agree. Blue Jays are the only Toronto team with any hope. AA doing a great job and he doesn't tell everyone what he is doing unlike that pompous ass Burke. We need an AA clone for the Leafs and Raptors. Find a Canadian for the job. |

Anonymous (no login) | Re: All Toronto sportscasters are paid mouthpieces... | July 29 2012, 2:22 PM |
Toronto sportscasters are the best around. They can make the worst teams in a sports look almost tolerable. Heck. It's probably easier turning water into wine then it is to make a toronto team seem important. |

There is nothing to say about Toronto's sports.
All the teams suck like shit.
They've been like that for the last 20 years, since the Jays won the World Series. |

The Toronto Argonauts have won Grey Cups in 2004, 1997, 1996 and 1991.
The Toronto Rock won championships in 2011, 2005, 2003, 2002, 2000 and 1999!
Fuck you Habbie dickhead! |

Those two teams fit in the "who cares" category. You must be one of the knobs that calls in to the Toronto sports talk shows and debates whether or not next year's team will make the playoffs. The life and times of a Toronto sports fan! |

the Americans have poor coverage of the olympic games as opposed to Canada, but better analysis & commentary. |

If FIFA was smart, they would let it go. That game might have inspired a lot of girls/ women to get into or stay in soccer. A punishment by FIFA might work against that. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: All Toronto sportscasters are paid mouthpieces... | August 7 2012, 3:43 PM |
FIFA isn't smart.
FIFA is a money-grubbing, blood-sucking bunch of Euro trash out for only themselves and how quickly and how completely they can fill their own pockets. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: All Toronto sportscasters are paid mouthpieces... | August 7 2012, 4:01 PM |
You're right. The IIHF is also the same kind of inbred money grubbing Euro trash as FIFA and the IOC.
Now that the USA is major player in hockey, tournaments should be North American run, sanctioned and played by NHL rules (or CHL if it's at the junior or level).
The NHL has been struggling with their involvement given that they take the risk yet little of the reward. Why give these foreign bodies the lion's share of the cash? |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: All Toronto sportscasters are paid mouthpieces... | August 7 2012, 4:07 PM |
Agreed and Bettman sees that re the Olympics. The NHL gets nothing monetarily from the Olympics. |

I didn't ask for and I don't need your advice to "grow a pair". In the spirit of free unsolicited advice, here is some for you. These are two of the leading texts on defamation used in Canadian Courts:
- Brown on Defamation, Second Edition
- Gatley on Libel and Slander, 11th Edition 1st Supplement now available.
I'll save you the time of reading them. You could go through every page on both texts and you will not find a "grow a pair" defence available to people who defame others. People don't have to take the garbage communicated on this site just because you think they should. In fact, it may be the people who have "grown a pair" who end up doing something about this forum. After Based on what you said, you believe it is "tame" to call people "queers", "aholes", "gaylords", to make racial slurs, and to tell people to "suck their cocks". My guess is not everyone sees those types of statements as "tame". The fact that a mod sees it is "tame" says more about this site than it does about any readers or about society.
Maybe the anonymity of posters (and the mods) will be protection enough. Maybe not. But if someone ends up bringing a lawsuit against you (which is easy to do in Canada), I don't suggest you try to rely on the "grow a pair" defence.
