http://www.network54.com/Forum/672359/thread/1339427416/last-1344350810/95-96+Milton+midget+program

Here are some examples for you:

June 12, 2012 6:37 - name calling of MMHA official
June 13, 2012 10:34 - insults MMHA official and his efforts
June 13, 2012 10:36 - accuses MMHA official of having no interest in helping the age group
June 14, 2012 9:31 "They all have their heads so far up each others asses when they sneeze it sounds like farts"
June 14, 2012 7:08 pm - talking about a child: "obviously your kid is not on the team. Just heard the Milton Gaylord School of Dancing is looking for male recruits - don't worry, we'll support you and come watch him!"
June 18, 2012 9:18 pm: tells MMHA official: "suck my cock MR"
June 19, 2012 12:02 pm directed to a parent: "We thought either you were working afternoons or maybe they were out of Wild Turkey at the local LCBO."
July 6, 2012 9:28 pm talking about a child: "why are dudes who can't even skate on the AA team?"
July 8, 2012 7:34 pm talking about kids: "none of those candy asses are gonna play up as AP's.... they suck."
July 8, 2012 8:45 pm - talking about a coach: "LM is a joke and even his biggest allies are starting to see it."
July 9, 8:06 pm insults an MMHA official: "Time to get your head out for your ass MR"
July 11, 2012 insults a coach of another team
July 15, 2012 is a racial remark
July 16, 2012 1:38 calls the coach an "ahole"
Juy 16, 2012 2:13 insults last year's coach
July 16, 2012 3:36 pm - anothe insult of coach from another team
Aug 2, 2012 5:09 calls former MMHA exec a "queer"
etc.
etc.
etc.

Is this really the kind of stuff you feel strongly about leaving up on this forum? What about your own rules?

1. Do not be an idiot. That should preclude having to read most of the following, but they follow, just in case.

3. No disparaging kids in any way. Nothing nice to say? Say nothing.

4. Do not start threads intended to cut up people or organizations.

10. No "these Organizations / Coaches / Teams / skating instructors / schools are shit" threads. Constructive criticism or review is fine. If you have an opinion state it, don't just malign.

Re: 95/96 Milton midget program

I didn't ask for and I don't need your advice to "grow a pair". In the spirit of free unsolicited advice, here is some for you. These are two of the leading texts on defamation used in Canadian Courts:

- Brown on Defamation, Second Edition
- Gatley on Libel and Slander, 11th Edition 1st Supplement now available.

I'll save you the time of reading them. You could go through every page on both texts and you will not find a "grow a pair" defence available to people who defame others. People don't have to take the garbage communicated on this site just because you think they should. In fact, it may be the people who have "grown a pair" who end up doing something about this forum. After Based on what you said, you believe it is "tame" to call people "queers", "aholes", "gaylords", to make racial slurs, and to tell people to "suck their cocks". My guess is not everyone sees those types of statements as "tame". The fact that a mod sees it is "tame" says more about this site than it does about any readers or about society.

Maybe the anonymity of posters (and the mods) will be protection enough. Maybe not. But if someone ends up bringing a lawsuit against you (which is easy to do in Canada), I don't suggest you try to rely on the "grow a pair" defence.

August 20 2012, 6:29 PM

I think this is the same person that keeps saying "we're out" (over and over again) because the core group of AA players is still in. If HS or AE is what your son wants, go for it! (but don't expect any Midget Milton powerhouse teams from AA, AE, or HS - the numbers simply aren't there to compete with some of the larger centers). The AA team looks to have the best chance to be at least respectable.

August 21 2012, 1:32 PM

It's late August, and our son still has no clue if he is on the AA team. This has to be the worst case of child abuse in history. After 12 tryouts and tournaments, that should be more than enough to format a team. We are playing high school. Good luck with this insane process. Too late.

Re: 95/96 Milton midget program

August 21 2012, 4:33 PM

I can't remember anyone really thinking that Milton will be contending with the top teams like Oakville, but they shouldn't be getting blown out like last year - looks like they have 2 fairly strong forward lines plus 1 (maybe 2) fairly strong defence pairings that will match up evenly with a team like Oakville. Problem for Milton (like normal) is that Oakville's roster is consistent throughout, so some of the ice matchups might not be too pretty at certain times of the game (need some clutch goaltending!).

August 22 2012, 7:12 AM

433 You make some good points & your positive attitude is very good! My only question is then...I thought we would have played better in the last tourney where we had a collection of 95-96 kids in a tourney that was 96 only. We didn't win a game. Now some of those same kids are not coming back, so who is coming on board to fill the roster? I keep hearing mixed reviews about an AAA kid joining & from what I hear from people on and off the team, he is being honeymooned to join the team. I am not sure what to think anymore????? Wins would be a positive for sure!

Re: 95/96 Milton midget program

August 22 2012, 3:50 PM

It would be a very very good idea for the coach to communicate with the group as to who is definitely signed up at present and how many he stills needs.
I suspect he's got some quality players in mind that are still sitting on the fence and doesn't want to fill the spots until he absolutely has to, but the time is now for those guys to decide. The roster uncertainty at this point in time is really unusual (although some of the other smaller centers are experiencing the same problems). The coach should realize he has supporters (like the 4:33 poster), but even those guys' patience will wear out.

3) no meetings is not a good start.
4) minor midgets quiet, waiting for exemption. Ask the postman.he knows.

As was said several times in this thread by a few people - the core group of quality players have stuck with the team from the get-go (any players who've said "I'm outta here" were not in the top half of the roster, or were probably not even on the team). The addition of new quality players since the spring (there are at least 2) only make the team stronger.

It's about the kids not your fucked up ways. Check your fucking ego and move forward. The fact you were allowed to drag this out for so long is just as ridiculous as your inability to have shit together by now. Wake the fuck up coach. Get over yourself and get it done already.

Well, frankly, I DON'T GIVE A FLYING FUCK ABOUT YOUR ANAL SPHINCTER PROBLEMS,YOUR LACK OF SEX AT HOME, OR WHO FRIGGED YOUR KID TEN YEARS AGO.

That said, welcome again to the Milton Minor Hockey Association, and we hope you and your family have a wonderful year.

I think its good that kids decide to not try out so others can have a chance to one day say they played AA. When we were on the team 3 years ago and lost 2 games it was fun to go to the rink. I can't imagine the pain of going last year and once LM shows his true form this year it could be quite entertaining. Keep this post going as I will check back after the tourney next week.

For my son that season 3 years ago was fun at the beginning; however when the team with much potential collapsed miserably in the playoffs, he said that was his most disappointing season of hockey ever. From what I hear, the dressing room and play on the ice has been positive and fun for the boys and they're looking forward to this early bird tournament.

actually team is ten times tougher than last year. Lost 5-0 to Vaughn, would have been 15-0 last year. winning last game with 5 min left and they tied it, and they were the dirtiest team on planet. So team is way better than chicken shit outfit last year. AE parents finding out how tough it is compared to little league AE. MJ out for a while after cheap shot.

The site won't be updated until all of the centers declare their teams in Midget - which MMHA has done and why there is Milton teams scheduled in AA and AE in the Tri County schedule. feel free to ask before blowing your brains out about something you know nothing about.

So a few midget age kids did not show up to the AA tryouts but now are going to play on the AE team - if there will be one. It would seem that BigMac did not keep his promise that if you dont go to the AA tryouts you cant play AE. He would make a good politician since he cant keep a promise.

Re: 95/96 Milton midget program

September 24 2012, 4:53 PM

Hey 4:46 it doesnt matter. Those kids that tried to get around the AA tryouts this year just dont like the coach - LM. Of course those same kids didnt go to the AA tryouts last year either as they didnt like the AA coach - EB. And they didnt like the previous years coach - FH either. OK there is a trend forming here. Is it really the coach that is the issue or is it these few families that have a problem? My advice to those kids is play what level you want to and dont let mummy and daddy interfere.

we need coaches that are not from milton or have kids on the team! I willing to pay a couple of dollars more to avoid all this crap ever year. God comes back because his kid isn't good enough to play AAA so Milton give it to him... Guess what.. it a mess once again... players and goalies should be evaluated by and outside person only... To late for this season but a suggestion for next season... lets just hope both teams can do something this year...

Didn't really know LM before and all I can say is that the boys are in good spirits, are having fun together, they like what's being taught on the ice, and they know that they'll get better as the season rolls along - don't know what more you could ask for. It's been very peaceful from our end amongst the parents.

You lucky bastards! We used to play against Milton, and guess what, your all still behaving like a bunch of fucked up in breeding (disabled) (rtds). You"ve actually got a coach who wants to coach. Never mind what his son could or couldn't do, you have LM and he will give your players great opportunities that you haven't been given all these years. Your at the end of the cycle, so grasp it, enjoy the couple of years and quit your f-ing whining. holy crap you could have done a lot worse and from my view, what have you received from the last couple of years.?anyway! stop with the crap and embrace the season

Free bit of advice for the critics not on this AA team - the more you guys try to put down the team (and especially the coach), the more we (the parents) will back him up. Any doubts on that, go for a chat with the parents at the rink.

Re: 95/96 Milton midget program

First of all - talent pool overrall is much better than last year and so is the quality of hockey. Second, both Guelph goalies were really strong (shots were 2 to 1 for Milton). Third, it was an exhibition game - a lot of shuffling trying combos, so yes, some weak links were exposed. Fourth, better passing in offensive rushes will have to be one of the coach's main themes. And fifth, Milton players showed they will not get pushed around.

Too bad he wouldn't crawl back into the hole he came out of, then we all might actually get to watch some games this year. Guess that's too much to as for.

Actually, no problem - game got rescheduled, MMHA now has the roster formalized, and the boys had a good practice last night. And, to repeat from some of the other posters, the boys are having a good time so any negative comments (warranted or not) are insignificant.

Buddy - my boy told me the coach apologized to the players for the cancelled game and said it will be rescheduled (because it was a home game I'm guessing that's not going to be a problem). And the poster before you had it right - boys weren't concerned one way or another last night on the ice - game or practice, so to me it's not a big deal either.

Agreed 2:48. What those non-AA complainers don't realize is that when they put the team (or coach) down, it is a slight against each of the players who chose to be on this team and who were selected to be on this team. By keeping up the criticism makes every parent want to support the coach even more, which I assume is exactly opposite to what their intentions are. But no one ever said God didn't make stupid people!

12:55 - a more accurate description would be: Brampton and Georgetown are "excellent" AA teams; Milton (and another 1/2 dozen) are currently "good" AA teams, and there are a couple who are "struggling" AA teams in the Tri-County loop. But, I guess if you like looking at life through your asshole, then go with what you think.

It is what it is. Clearly the AA loop has gotten weaker but who cares. If it was a strong as last year we would only be beating the botton two teams. This way we can beat anyone but the top 2. Makes for a better season.

Best test for competitiveness of the Tri-County teams is see how they fare in tournaments - my feeling is that this year will be no different than in previous 10 years in terms of how well they do overall against other OMHA centers and against GTHL teams, and they usually hold their own.

1:57 you are a bit optimistic and 2:02 you are very pessimistic. Last year Milton team could not even compete with the so-called "mid-pack" teams but this year they can - it's more of Milton improving than the competition becoming weaker.

3:51 - If you were on the team last year you know that the majority of the kids were 1 if not 2 years younger than the competition. Can't compare.

4:38 and 3:51 you are both right. Half of last year's team was under-aged and were really handicapped against teams that had 2 year age advantage on them. And this year's team is actually better (player for player, as well as how they play together).

better than what? I agree about last years team being under aged but this years division is terrible. LM being the coach is not the reason for them winning some games this year.. The AE team most likely would do better than most of the other teams in this loop this year... Its not only in this AA midget loop but in the GTHL loop as well.. Midget hockey is going down the drain. The High school teams seem top have all the top players now...
