Have all the AAA teams confirmed their complete teams or are they still making money on team skates and leaving AA boys hanging?

As has been the norm in AAA, right from M Atom, that the coaches only want/need 10 good skaters. These are the players that play regular and double their shifts, and on PP and PK. The others are just fillers on the ice and a major source of money as it's almost always the kids on the fence who have the dad's with the big aspirations and big wallets. Not fair, but because of that 'system' you have many GTHL draft picks that have been pushed up the ranks by their skill more so than their dad's wallet. So you dads, that have contributed big, big bucks into their AAA teams, you can take pride in the fact that you supported some of your team's draft picks and future NHL stars. Too bad your Johnny didn't make it.

So true. Thanks to scum bag coaches that not only get paid, but get a free ride for their kid as well. In AAA, most parents are so terrified they may be cut and thus don't question the budget and where the money comes from or goes.

Call me Naive, giving you permission ahead of time: But can't the GTHL demand that payment to coaches be a max of $5000 and that team finances be submitted to the league for review. Just for AAA which means it should not be that overwhelming to review these year end spreadsheets. How does the G benefit from having coaches to take $20-30k a year?

The G doesn't benefit.

Same as contractors, all you do is pay the coach cash under the table. How you going to police that?

1:29pm Give us some examples of these scumbag coaches who get paid and their kids get free rides, or is this just another N54 rant?

Is this the naive guy again? Though many of the better and paid AAA coaches have no kids on the teams, don't think for one second that $6,7 or 8,000 can't, and doesn't get buried somewhere in the apparel, extra instruction, extra ice, tournament expense, or misc expense areas of the budget.

If you do not make midget AAA will any AA team take you or just the ones who need players?

The AA team will cut their weakest player for you...

But only if your son is not there to mope over the fact that he got chopped down to AA. If that's the case, many teams will deem him to be a detriment and stay away from him, talented though he may be.

You wouldn't know the kid is going to mope until well into the season....

Midget teams are not determined and filled till well into September. There are still all the OHL and Junior A camps to come. It is great practice time for players if you are able to practice with a AAA team. if you have gone to enough skates with any particular AAA team then you will know if you may have a chance to make that team or remain on the team.

Very nice. Come Sept all the AAA cuts and those trying out will be scrambling to get on a weak AAA or almost any AA team that has a spot left.

Isn't that making the weak AAA/any AA team stronger? It's good for the game
