The PALM cryonics plans will be transferrable between cryonics orgs. Without membership, this is possible in a way that could not be done before.
For example, if the Oregon group does more than teach with their equipment-- and gears up for actual preservations-- which I believe they will-- then I could reassign my will/trust/bequest to Oregon, and live near that lab as a PALM cryonics customer... (pre arranged last minute)... I could take ownership of my life insurance policy from Alcor and put it in oregon's hands. Same goes with transferability to CI.
This is the danger Alcor faces with not guaranteeing grandfathering. But I think that bridge was crossed already... there is no grandfathering guarantee... there never was... it was an illusion.,.. and a non-financially feasible one.
