wasn't a standard model but they did exist. I think you either ordered it from Ford or there was a specialist company who did them. Definately read about it somewhere once.

Yep true....seen one on ebay.

Had it factory fitted cos the owner had a bad leg and couldnt change gear.

I owned one up until December 2005. Was a black 2.8i Special. B266 LEM was the registration. Sold it to a bloke in Bridlington. Don't know what happened to it after that - not seen it since.

Got some piccies still if you want the proof.

Hi there, I was messing around on google and typed my capri,s reg B266LEM and there I was reading about someone who used to own my car, is the guy still a member or not.
Anyway became a member of this site to maybe track him down, and also if I ever need some advice.

Project Carla you wouldn't have the combined knowledge that's available on here for fiddling, tweaking and tickling a capri. Although it's the 'Laser Page' there are plenty on here with 2.8 models who've taken them to bits, improved or mended them & put them together again countless times. Anything you need to know just ask. The Rant & Rave page is for anything else not strictly capri-tech.


One of my customers on tuesday night told me he is employed in car design (Coventry) and works with a 63 year old guy who was at Ford when it started the capri.

I think it was a case of asking your local Ford dealer nicely and then just waiting.

Sent him all the photos I still had as well as a bit of info from when I had it. It's 3 weeks from being done and he's gonna send me some piccies. It'll be nice to see what has happened to one of my old Cappers. It was certainly the one I had the most fun in and I regularly kick myself for getting rid of it.
