| Why have i not got a spring on my belt tensioner ?
Do i need one or can i just tension it by hand ?

Hi steve, I recently changed the belt on my 1600, and people told me to get shot of the spring. It makes no odds mate.

And use 2 hex head M8 bolts to secure it with good fat washers. |

i tensioned mine with a hammer, bash the tensioner till it gives enough tension on the belt then bolt the bugger up, :D who needs a spring |

Was just flicking through the manuel & saw there should be a spring ?
