Of course anyone reaches a time in their life when they are deemed to be "too old" and this is up to the Lahi people themselves to make this decision but they may well be very sorry if they don't continue to support an honest leader who has delivered well without continually lauding his own efforts. The person who will unseat Bart and this is very unfortunate and hopefully won't happen until after another term for BP,will be a Highlander!
Yupla AHI are a minority by now. Outsiders have the number. If the Highlanders organise themselves, one of them will be the next MP for lae.Yu AHI sometimes hate other coastals but trust me, ol save combine na givim pawa go back to yupla. If nogat longtime yet bai highlands rulim Lae
We Morobeans lighted up the highlands so brighten it up and clean your backyard whether it is day light or dark and don't talk about this crap, go back home and contribute your brilliant ideas to develope your place instead of roaming around in Lae.
All Bart wants to do is gain power in the Parliament, and doesn't care about his own city. What a waste, he should be replaced by an AHI Leader. Highlanders should go back to their own province and stand there.
You tok stret Meri Wau...
Sori true long you Butibum...
Butibum, look around the Lae City, which ethnic groups are the majority?
There are products of inter-marriages between Ahi-Highlanders & Ahi-Sepiks, etc, amongst you, so how do get their full support?
If you are serious about replacing an Ahi with another Ahi, its really up to you Aihi people in and around the city to do the right thing and unite all residents of the City, regardless of their ethnicity.
Replace Bart with someone with credibility, someone from Morobe or Coastal Person. PLEASE do not VOTE in an Highlander. Those outcaste's cant make it in their own tribal backyard up here so they run to the Coast. You Vote in an Highlander, Lae City will definately be returned to holigans like what you are experiencing now in Eriku...Maybe Worse.
The problem is that nearly every politician we elect has some immoral, unethical, or corrupt activities that they've been doing behind the scenes but we don't know about. We know about Bart's hidden problems (womanizing gambler who can't control his alcohol) but not about Nablu's. Nablu surely has some problems that we're not being told about?
1. Bart Philemon will be unseated by his constituents who have no idea of what their member has been doing in Lae district.
2. Bart Philemon is not the leader of the AHI villages. Because only Butibam, Kamkumung and Wagang are part of the Lae Open.
3. Benson Nablu is not a true AHI Leader, he has yet to answer the AHI people in regards to his scrupulous dealing at AHI Holdings
4. Yes, we are becoming a minority in Lae, but do not write us off yet. We will surprise you and our critics very soon.
5. The leadership of Lae Open is very crucial to ALL Morobeans, not only to the Butibams, Kamkumungs and Wagangs, because Lae is our Provincial Headquarters.
6. We are prepared to put a strong fight, we cannot allow others to determine our political, social and economic destiny.
7. We welcome your comments and look at them in positive way.
8. Thank you to the other coastal ethnic groups in Lae who continue to support the Butibams, Kamkumungs and Wagangs.
The highlanders have walked all over youse for years and even now on your own territory, you've just gotten your hands tied so that you can't do anything more about the highlanders. I don't see that you have any power at all anymore over your own place. Observers of development on your own land tasol.
1. My vote is not on Bart Philemon
2. Right now I do not recommend anyone, mainly because everyone must come out and disclose their platforms, on issues such as rural-urban migration, traditional land protection, health care, education, law & order, water and sanitation, energy (power), labour and youth development
3. Sad. I said do not write us off. I agree with you to "certain" extent that we are spectators, but, something is about to happen, watch
They will all simply giaman their platforms. They'll say whatever they think it is we want to hear. Thus, we don't advance past Square 1. The pollies all lie however the need to, in order to get our votes.
Bart Philemon has done nothing for Lae and PNG.
He is useless ,get him out and get somebody else in.
Not an outsider, ol assples yet.
Bart can talk and talk but produces nothing.
Lae is worse off in developments compared to POM.
em tru.REMOVE BART IN 2012 N SEND IN ANOTHER MOROBEAN.
no highlander, because they are going to destroy lae and steal all your land and give it to their wantoks. sopos nogat morobe inap painim nambis man yet ,...
The City of Lae desperate for a new leader. Bart is too old....he had a chance and have never proved to the people of Lae he can lead and fix so many problem city been through. People are not stupid anymore to keep suffering from his leadership. The time has come to change him. He is good to be an adviser on the national level, but not leading the City of Lae. He lacked confident from many people and this election could be his final.
I for one believe he should be paid a handsome fee to go on EMTV and advertise the Lamana Gold Club. He can tell us what a great place it is, then the camera can shift to scenes of him drinking, womanizing and thoroughly enjoying himself at the club......just like he's been doing for years.
I think this is the perfect job for him, and Lamana would be investing its money very wisely to have him as their spokesman for EMTV.
Also this would give many POM women who pamuk around Lamana the chance to be in TV and advertise their stuff too.
Bart has been out performed on the floor of parliament and comes to Lamana Gold Club to confide in alcohol and women for comfort.
He says he has done enough for Lae and the country and he's very happy that he built Lae up to where it is now, a good and vibrant city.
"He built Lae up to where it is now, a good and vibrant city."
Hmmm. Last time I saw Lae, it was a crime ridden tree that has lost so many of its old trees you can't call it either beautiful or the 'Garden City' anymore. Vibrant? Yeah, especially when the squatter kids strip the unsuspecting Morobean girls naked at the Eriku bus stop.
You're trying to tell us that Bart Philemon is responsible for all that?
Bart is not longer worth anymore. By innovational perspective, he has no strategic plans for the City and the people of Lae, Morobe Capital. It’s about time for him to drop out. Heard from the churches and the people of Lae are praying for a new leader with a vision for Lae, and Bart to lose.
The candidates that win aren't the ones who pray but the ones who strategize, either by buying votes, buying electoral officials, or doing the hard ground work walking their electorate year in and year out.
Bloggers please don't waste your time here.
Bart is going to win easily, just like a small walk in the park so forget it.
Maybe you can try in 2017.
There is simply no better man to lead Lae than Bart.
Good talk, mate! As you say, Bart will DEFINITELY win. He's been working overtime behind the scenes to buy votes, bribe electoral officials, and do whatever he needs to do to stay in office. You stupids who think he won't win don't see this mark of the true hardworking man that Bart Philemon is. Those of you who think he won't win don't know all the tricks that Mr Bart has up his sleeves. Bart has plenty of money to spread around to stupid voters, both being part of government and also all those Morobe legal kickback schemes.
Go, Go, Lamana Gold, Bart Philemon is the tops!!!!
What a lot of rubbish you sprout.
Bart Philemon has never "bought" anyone's vote, ever. He may not win again but Lae people will be very sad if they don't put him back as there is simply no-one else fit to replace him.
As for his leisure activities,he is a single man and is free to do as he likes.
Meri Wau you speak like a prophet when you say there is no better person out there to replace Bart. If you are God we will listen to you. You say the same thing in support of Sam Basil. Be mindful that christians in and around PNG are praying everyday for good and decent leaders to carry this country forward beyoind 2012. Looks like you are not a christian yourself and do not share the believe and faith of the rest of praying christians in PNG. Please try not to take the place of God in stating that only Bart Philimon is the best and fit person to keep representing Lae.
Sir, be mindful that christians in and around PNG have been praying everyday for good and decent leaders for the last 20 years and every time they get no reply from God.
Maybe God is telling them that they should do less praying and instead use their God-given legs and their God-given brains to get off their knees and arses and start doing something REAL to change things for the better.
Start, my friend, by telling us who is a better candidate than Bart Philemon?
Meri Wau, you are contradicting ethic laws that placed for leaders as public figure to guide. I understand what you are trying to say, but do you think a leader should behave like that? Shouldn't (he) have some sense that he is an elected member that represent certain region
I try not to judge others on things that I do not see.
I have never seen Bart Philemon drinking excessively as I do not frequent these places(Lamana or whereever it is) and who is to say he womanises?
Men are men and he is a single man and as such is not breaking any laws that I am aware of.
I would doubt that he is bonking under-age girls and he is not committing adultery as he is unmarried.
The man I know is eloquent, high principled and has served his people well.
I still say that people in Lae may well be sorry if they do not re-elect him but I do not vote in his electorate any longer so it will be their loss or their gain if they decide upon someone else.
Do you actually know me and who are you to judge whether or not I am a good Christian?
I believe that your Christianity(or lack of) is judged by God alone and is not relevant as to whether you go to church or not but rather by the way you live your life.
I certainly don't present myself as a prophet but like you, am entitled to an opinion and often get disgusted at how unfair you guys sometimes are.
Then again, all's fair in love and war my friend.
Why not you give a try , your other friend Carol is not contesting. Sam is you son and ovbiosuly you won't challenge him after you lost to him in 2007 election , so whats stopping you to contest Lae Open.
If lawyers were paid to do any work that was contracted by Bart Philemon I don't believe for one minute that Bart would have been paying any kickbacks.I have no knowledge and have always said that perhaps you should be looking towards the Governor for an answer to this.He and Bart are certainly not good friends
He speaks out about corruption often and had the courage to leave the Somare Govt long ago.
I am sure he has had his suspicions about many things on many occassions but suspicions are only suspicions and you have to be very careful about backing your suspicions with cold hard facts before you speak.
