the Morobe Philantropist

December 4 2011 at 10:38 AM

It is highly suspicious that the Morobe Philanthropist is dishing out huge amount of cash 7 months before the 2012 election.

Can the Robin Hood of Morobe come out and tell us if he has political ambitions for the Regional Seat?

Morobeans beware! More to come

My sentiments exactly. There is an old saying-"Beware of Greeks bearing gifts".
Have wondered how lucrative his law firm could be that he can be giving out such large sums of money. Not just now but for the past couple of years.I did actually wonder who was funding him and it looks to me like another Wari Vele dispensing largesse that was mainly from others with their own vested interests in having their own puppets in place

What has Wenge done for Morobe?

May 1 2012, 1:25 AM

Before we start to create stories and post our assumptions of Mr. Naru, the readers here would appreciate if Meri Wau and Hadapa can list what Wenge has achieved for Morobe and his people?
We would appreciate also, if you can convince the readers here, that the charities and caring acts of Mr. Naru are only gimmicks, to win the election?
I would only state by record that, Mr. Naru's kindess goes back some 20 years ago. It is Naru's nature in caring, and helping out those in need, and I must say, PNG is blessed with Naru. Thank God for creating such a kind hearted man.
Good people have good intentions. And Naru is one of those few good men around, who is ready for the big job of serving his beloveth Morobe.

Re: the Morobe Philantropist

December 4 2011, 2:22 PM

This is ridiculous that you're on the internet, you don't have to put down your name, and still you're too frightened to just give this so called philanthropist's name.

We are rats compared to the bravery of our ancestors and this is a beautiful example of how frightened we have become.

There will be no melanesian spring in the cards for us, like the arab spring uprising that occurred in large part because of chronic corruption. People risked and even gave their lives to get rid of corruption.

You'll never see us doing that. We're far too afraid to do anything that might make the corrupt topshots cross at us.

NAME THE NAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

;) We are not afraid to name him, you as well as every literate Morobean know him. Why? Because the Morobe Philanthropist have been a good friend of the media as well. Every donation to the cash strap ELC PNG is being widely publish by the media.

I would like to encourage all Morobeans to be weary of the Philanthropist, I would rather he continue his good work as a Philanthropist and not as a politician come June 2012.

We had enough of these sort of leadership, we need a different style, someone who can find solutions for our current challenges.

Morobean voters already are weary, very weary. Weary of all of politics.

However, I suspect your goal is to make Morobeans aware and for them to be wary.

Big difference between 2 english words. That's why our teachers kept trying and trying (without success) to convince us to read and write extensively so we would not later on make a fool of ourselves writing english!

The fact is that Kelly Naru gives money to more than Morobe and Morobeans. Thus, it is possible this isn't political. Does anyone have any firm basis for thinking that the money he's giving out is not his own?

Naru continues to help needy
By Mal Taime

The Kelly Naru law firm has continued to dish out funds to assist institutions in the Highlands region. On Sunday Naru principal Kelly Naru gave out a total of K55,000 to churches and schools in both Western Highlands and Chimbu Province.

Mr Naru gave K10,000 to Milep Lutheran High School, Evangelical Lutheran Church (Hagen district) K10,000, Ogelbeng Lutheran Seminary K5000, K20,000 to Yani Seventh Day-Adventist Church for renovation and pledged K10,000 for Evangelical Lutheran Church administration at Ampo in the Morobe Province.

He gave out the cheques before the packed Lutheran Church congregations at the installation of Reverend Rauke Rawa as president for Evangelical Lutheran Church president for Hagen district.

Before presenting the cheques Mr Naru told the congregations that it was important for Christians to love one another so that God would love them. “Lutheran Christians must follow our motto ‘walk with belief, man and woman, love God and walk around with other Christians’,” Mr Naru said.

He urged the people to cement their business for God because God had blessed the people in many ways and they must help those who were in dire need. Headmaster Gabriel Murang thanked Mr Naru for donating the money to the school, saying that the school was in a bad state and needed money.

Mr Murang said they needed money to do some work and Mr Naru’s donation towards the school was a timely boost and would be put into good use.

That's the main revenue for his firm.

This is politics being camouflage in the pretext of goodness (very dubious indeed).

So,if it is politics, than the source can be private to public sponsorship.

Alas, Morobeans be wary, the crocodiles are already here.

Piece of advise from kol ples Goroka where the Awute coffee tastes even better!

It is actually cheaper and more effective to bribe polling and counting officials to win an election. That is the trend in the last 2 elections.

ENOUGH OF USING ELCPNG

February 27 2012, 6:28 PM

Just to remind you Lutherans of Morobe. Our current Governor was the Chairman of ELCPNG synod and he used his position to influence our Lutheran members through their District presidents, Parish Presidents and Congregation chairmen to be what he is now.

What has he done for our province as a God fearing man as he said? He is the worse governor I think.

Now we have another one popping up. I heard he hosted a big feast at his Yalu village and invited all the church elders to attend. Included in the list were some songangs from Ampo (ELCPNG H/Q) and too top it off is the Head Bishop, Giegere Wenge who is the governor's own brother.

Please longlong inap nau. We need change!!!
