The whisper I've heard in Madang is that the odious elder Yama, now mainly resident in the Phillipines (why?), will stand for Madang Open and that he'll put his thick son, Emmanuel, up for the Bundi seat. PLEASE tell me that the Bundis aren't stupid enough to vote in that small boy thug!

Peter YAMA will not get any votes from usino-bundi again. His son can jump into the rubbish drum and forget about it. the usino-bundis know that PETER YAMA is a crook and a tyrant.....its sad that the water tap is drying up ...sori trying

Molydigger, it seems I got it wrong. Yama has come out and said he's standing for Usino-Bundi again and, laughably, the little boy thug Emmanuel is standing for Madang regional. They will spend, and lose, buckets of money buying votes and bribing officials. It will be a pleasure to watch.

It doesn't matter. i think the bundi's will outright reject peter yama. they may conn yama and get his money but whoever does will be hunted down by yama like a dog.

Forget peter yama. The tussle for UB seat will be the sitting member (SAMSON KULI), george wan the former mp and richard kindi. anton yagama might impress soundly. tui ekil might come through but most people in the district have said...they will not vote in outsiders (kamman!)
yama will dish out the millions to buy votes but i think he will play dirty. so that is a worry

Peter Yama badly needs money to develop the land on Modolin near his Smugglers inn. He cannot develop the land without stealing money. Please help him steal by electing HIS SON who certainly will be running for MP.

Yama does not need to be an MP to steal

March 21 2012, 8:50 AM

Ating yupla ino save ridim niuspepa?

Every year Yama through his crook lawyers and his private judges wins about K15-20m a year from the state through the legal system.

His last payment was a K15m out of court settlement that he got as soon as Oneil became PM. He got this payment for a supposed business venture he was supposed to do on a block of land at newtown that the traditional landowners prevented him from using because he got the land through shady means. That money was paid in November last year before accounts where closed. The previous AG was challenging this payment in court but Marat chose not to pursue the case and authorised the payment.

Maybe he wants to be Usino Bundi mp to get payments from Ramu Nico and Yandera?

TIME IS CHANGING SO MUST WE

March 28 2012, 3:11 PM

The discussion in here should be about what we can do for a better Usino-Bundi for tomorrow and our kids.
We have two big mines operating in Bundi (Krumbukari and Yandera) and the eyes of Madang and PNG is on us as we go to the polls this year.

Mind you parliment is not the place for councilors, village elders, Aid Post Oderlies, Teachers, Mechanics and the list goes on. We can not vote in dumbs who just warm the chair during the 5 years, do nothing and can not even understand the complicated terminologies other parlimentarians use in parliment during debate time.
The leader we choose must be someone who can command respect from other MP's and to the extend where they follow him around too. We lack candidates of such calibre from the list we have.
Peter Yama was given the change, he did nothing and so the past is history. If we are fools we will get this man back coz I know a lot of our people want cash handouts and rice and can food.

We have a lot at stake and from the list of candidates, I think Anton Yagama is a capable man to lead. We all have grudges against him for his personality and other reasons. Put this aside and lets gve it to him and see if he is the man..

Gende Movo...

You can't say that we lack people of the right calibre to be capable MPs for Bundi-Usino on one hand, then suggest a person (Anton Yagama no less) on the other hand. Your first statement is the correct one. WE HAVE NO CANDIDATES OF APPROPRIATE CALIBRE TO REPRESENT US. Full stop, end of statement.

Second, the 2 mines you mention aren't big mines at all but small ones, And thank God for that, since mines totally destroy land and environment in ways that will be felt for generations. We shouldn't have any mines in our area, we were stupid enough to allow two and thank God they're small.

I agree that in USINO/BUNDI the candidates contesting are councillors, teachers,aid post workers etc ......but as said ANTON YAGAMA, had been given the chance and am afraid that he failed to prove it. regardless of your qualifications people will look to leaders who will show interest to their communities, their lives, their needs. development is a forgone term and i believe no one will take any notice of party policies, educational levels has no significance.

My personal opinion on AY, He has been standing for UB seat for as long as i can remember but he has never improved or changed his campaign strategies. Even as Madang town manager, honestly he can't improve and think he was interested in his personal wealth than
the general populace.

2012 National Elections

June 9 2012, 9:40 AM

Our beloved PNG has had its political independence for 37 years now. Usino Bundi electorate has contributed significantly towards the National Development of PNG by attracting international investments on the blessedful lands of Usino. Hardly any tangible development has happenede in Usino Bundi to show for its significant contribution to PNG via the customs and taxes that are collected by the National Government from the international investments operating in Usino Bundi. Notable investments in Usino Bundi are Ramu Agri Industries, Ramu Nickle, Marengo Gold. Adding to the list of international investors is the latest discoveries of oil and gas.

It is now time to develop Usino Bundi and make a difference henceforth starting in 2012.What we need is simple, "GOOD LEADERSHIP"

My choice amongst the 41 candidates will be a person with:-

> a university qualification;
> young and vibrant;
> successful business or career history;
> of good morale value (God fearing, one wife, has no habit of dringing, etc);
> has a good knowlege of the big investments and can meaningfully represent our Usino Bundi people.

I plan to make my decision soon. Still assessing the 41 candidates for Usino Bundi.

Lets all idenify a good leader. Please lets share intelligence.

Re: 2012 National Elections

June 9 2012, 10:28 AM

Our most corrupt pollies all have uni education - they've learnt great skills on stealing money.

Businessmen in PNG have a long history of corruption. Anyone into business thinks of putting money into THEIR pockets first. In other words, greed is their top priority. Once they become MP, they continue that old strategy, and continue filling their pockets. Thus, you have picked a very very bad way to assess whether a candidate will become a good MP.

Many of the other qualifications you mention every single corrupt pollie will say they have and we can't tell whether they do or not.

About the only things that we actually can judge on your list and DO describe people who don't become corrupt once they become MPS is:

-one wife (and no messing around on the side).
-no drinking.
