If we're all lucky, the Grand Thief will get his final humiliation when his own people reject him. Nothing less than such a humiliation will finally get him to give up and shut up.

I'm praying daily for his loss!

I hope we break out of the 40 years of increasingly being out of touch with the modern world and elect someone who doesn't fall asleep at NEC meetings like the GT was always doing.

Give him a reality check

July 9 2012, 12:03 PM

As we can see from the progressive results, People are speaking through the ballot. They got nothing over the past 4 decades. We must change by replacing the GC. ESP has performed badly under his leadership. We cannot deny that.

don't you guys forget that sepiks have a point to prove to the currnet government that they can't be simply pushed around when their chief was unceremoniously removed by parliament. that's what i like about malanasian politics.besides somare is still the chief of his tribe and i can say that none of you guys on this chat room can match up with him on this basis along so shut up and wait for the final count before you eat up your own humble pies.

Let him Lead he's not suppose to trail any way!

July 9 2012, 3:04 PM

People like you are the cause of his downfall. You all his servants have let the GC down. If he loses you gracefully take the blame for it. You have not properly acquitted his accounts, you stole all the money from ESPG, you stole all the money from Sepik HWay Trust. Now you want him to continue politics so you can steal at his back. Very true

Re: Let him Lead he's not suppose to trail any way!

July 9 2012, 4:25 PM

Former prime minister Sir Michael Somare is leading in the East Sepik provincial seat he has held for 44 years with 7117 votes, with just eight per cent of the vote counted.

Pangu Pati's Allan Bird is trailing Sir Michael at 6107 votes.

The former prime minister has vowed to see Mr O'Neill jailed if he returns to the top job after he was dumped from office in a controversial change of government last August.

Counting in the National Capital District resumed on Sunday after a pay dispute with electoral officers held up the process.

Mr Trawen said he had no comment on reports that ballot papers had been set alight in the capital, suspending the count.

Somare Leading the count on 28,266 votes

July 10 2012, 8:16 PM

Somare on his way to a big win again. Angoram and Wewak voters have given him more than 80% of the regional votes. Lukaut Peter Oneil and Belden Nama.

Allan Bird is trailing on 27,096, his votes from Wosera and Maprik are not enough to trouble the old man.

Numbers from Central Tally room, Kaindi, ESP

"As you can see from the final results"' Sepik people are basically as stupid as all the rest of us - instead of voting for good, progressive, honest people, they bring back the Grand Thief.

Only the people of Angoram seem to have amazing common snese that ranks higher than most all of PNG.

Congratulations to them.

Only Somare is the best, rest of the candidates are idiots

July 26 2012, 10:28 AM

East Sepik replaced 6 sitting MPs and kept the old man, Somare.

From this we can deduce that all the candidates who challenged Somare for the regional seat were complete idiots, had little or no brains or ability or vision and could not do anything for East Sepik. Only someone with the name Somare is capable of moving sepik. There is nobody in East Sepik capable of developing East Sepik except Somare.

We can also deduce that now, in the next 5 years, Somare will do for Sepik what he was unable to do for them in the last 44 years he was their leader.

Congratualtions Sepiks for a great decision for the future. Somare is the entire past, present and future for the people of East Sepik.
