There is no registered MRA political party in PNG and in particular, New Ireland.
Because of political interest that the Acting Managing Director Kepas Wali has, he has been putting more projects in the electorate especially the Central New Ireland where he comes from and who has the biggest population in the Namatanai Electorate.
Again, most contracts were given to Israel Lait owner of Northsea Engineering Services Company with no previous track record of building, constructions and even engineering. Israel Lait is a blood cousin of Kepas Wali.
MRA paid four (4) chqs totalled K69, 822.82 dated and payable to Israel Lait’s name since he didn’t have a registered company. The following are dates, amounts and chqs details:
10.03.10 for K25, 285.75, (ANZ Chq number; 0000930)
15.04.10 for K11, 728.75, (ANZ Chq number, 0000971)
15.04.10 for K21, 079.57 (ANZ Chq number, 0000972) &
27.04.10 for K11, 728.75 (ANZ Chq number 0001002) all are Pom Branch.
These chqs were all signed and picked up by a Stacey Lavakia Wali, the wife of the Acting Managing Director of MRA from the MRA Office at Konedobu.
On the 29th June, 2010, MRA Paid the first two chqs of K1, 000.00 Chq number; 0001115 & K11, 400.00 Chq number; 0001116 to Northsea Engineering Services after he registered himself a company
From 10/3/2010 to 23/9/2011, a total of K2, 769,043.69 was paid to Israel Lait and Northsea Engineering Services for assembling the kit houses.
For such person like Kepas Wali who wants to become a Member for Namatanai in the coming election, do the people of Namatanai need a person like him?
Then, another company call; Neu Merklenberg owned by his blood cousins Ron Hosea and Percy Sukbat and his blood brother Maravas Pavut. MRA paid them more than K200, 000.00 from MRA’s purse.
Mr. Wali, you have already tarnished your name reputation and I don’t think you should stand.
People of Namatanai, I think this is not a leader we want. This type of leader who only do things to satisfy themselves and their families. Imagine if he becomes a member for Namatanai, he will only look after his family and not everyone whom he represents. Kepas Wali has two purposes as to why he was pumping projects to Namatanai. The first one is, he was doing this to please people to vote him come June/July elections and the second one is; to get money out of MRA to his family business so that he would have money to help him fund his elections.
I wonder if these two companies will still be alive after Kepas Wali is finished from MRA.

the reality is for the first time villagers and communities are seeing real progress in néw Ireland , thanks to Kepas being at the MRA and making use of what the mandate is . He has declared his interest and has resigned from MRA .

It's good that the government has defer the national election by 6 months so that people have a fair and smooth election.Again for people like Kepas Wali & John Paska who are really desperate to win in the Namatanai and Regional seats respectively are paid the price for their selfish activities on the ground for illegally campagning and doing charity work by giving funds to communities and people.
It will NOT be a smooth and fair election. The only thing that will improve are the voter rolls in the highlands which are a giant mess at the moment.
However, in the deferred elections, the big boys will buy off whatever electoral officials they need to buy off in order to shift the votes to favoured candidates. No one will know the difference but the results won't be pretty.
Look at the end of the day it doesnt matter who you like, who you hate, who you want to win or lose in the elections.. Whoever wins the seat for Namatanai Open will win because God has chosen him to lead the people of Central New Ireland and the Namatanai Districts..
